WJ&J Green signs 5-year Michelin tyre management, telematics contract

Moray-based bulk haulier WJ&J Green has signed a five-year Michelin EffiTires tyre management contract. The deal, which includes the roll-out of Michelin’s EffiTrailer telematics system, marks a return to a 100 per cent Michelin policy across the truck and trailer fleet, after a decade of fitting a variety of tyre brands.

Giti expands seasonal tyre range with GitiAllSeasonCity

Giti Tire has expanded its seasonal tyre range with the launch of the GitiAllSeasonCity, a passenger car tyre aimed at smaller A-C segment vehicles including the Fiat 500, Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo. Initially available in European markets (but not in the UK) in 13 sizes from 165/70R14 to 195/55R16 across speed indices H and T, the tyre carries the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol for approved fitment in markets with laws governing winter tyre use.

TGI enhances Cosmo Tire warranty programme

Cosmo Tires has added a mileage warranty to its passenger and light truck tyre line-up. The Tire Group International brand also has a “recap and casing warranty” on all its truck and bus tyres. Together they comprise the new “Cosmo Tires Warranty Suite”, the company states. In addition to adding more than 10 new sizes to its comprehensive road hazard programme, Cosmo also provides a mileage warranty of up to 45,000 miles on its RC-17 and El Jefe HT lines.

Goodyear official Land Rover Experience tyre for Kaza National Park tour

Goodyear’s Wrangler DuraTrac tyre has been chosen for fitment by the 16 Land Rover Discoverys driving across the Kavango-Zambezi (Kaza) National Park, the world’s second-largest nature reserve. The tyre was developed to cope with the toughest terrains, such as those that will be encountered on the 2,000km journey on rugged African roads.

Goodyear’s Traicoff moves to Asia Pacific leadership role

As of 1 November, Andy Traicoff will take over as vice president consumer of Goodyear Tire & Rubber’s Asia Pacific business unit. He moves to this role from his current jobs as vice president, customer experience of the company’s Americas business unit, a position he has held since October 2018. Traicoff will report to Ryan Patterson, president of Goodyear Asia Pacific.

Vredestein adds larger sizes to Flotation Trac range

Two further sizes have joined the Vredestein Flotation Trac line-up and will be officially introduced at the Agritechnica show in November. Both sit at the upper end of the Flotation Trac size range; 900/65R32 and 900/65R38 – Vredestein says the latter is, with a diameter of 2.15 metres, the world’s tallest radial flotation tyre. The arrival of these new additions brings the Flotation Trac range up to a total of 33 dimensions.
