Giti Tire participated in the 45th ADAC Zurich 24h Race at the Nürburgring partnership with Team Dörr, one of Germany’s most experienced motorsport companies, finishing second in the SP8 class and 40th overall. Its fastest lap time was 09:11.087 minutes. The team’s Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo gained pole position in its class after qualifying but had its winning chances snatched away with a broken drive shaft with two hours remaining. The relationship with Team Dörr dates back to January 2017.
Bridgestone has secured the largest commercial fleet contract in its history, a $110m, five-year deal with transport operator FirstGroup. Bridgestone will supply tyres to more than 60,000 of FirstGroup’s buses and coaches in the USA, Canada and the UK.

Connor McCloskey claimed outright victory on Pirelli tyres at the Severn Valley Stages, round three of the Pirelli MSA Welsh Rally Championship. Co-driven by John Rowan, McCloskey led throughout in his Ford Fiesta WRC, winning by 45 seconds at the finish in Builth Wells. Charlie Payne finished second in another Pirelli-equipped Fiesta WRC.

Hella Gutmann Solutions has added three new extension kits to its camera and radar recalibration tool line-up for the independent aftermarket. The camera and sensor calibration (CSC) tool enables independent garages to calibrate and repair advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The new kits are compatible with rear view and all-round vision cameras, extending CSC’s existing, forward-facing solution.

Federal-Mogul Motorparts has announced an agreement between its Moog brand and NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. The company will provide all competition cars with steering and suspension components. the new agreement complements its long-standing NASCAR partnership, which has stood since 1966.
Delphi’s new range of brake products are currently featured on the company’s stand at Automechanika Birmingham 2017. Products include R90 certified discs, an extended range of coated discs, copper-free pads and a new programme of caliper slider kits.
Motul and McLaren GT have followed up a successful association with McLaren GT customer race team Garage 59 in 2016, with a newly announced partnership making Motul the approved lubricant supplier of McLaren GT and its customer teams.
Delphi Product & Service Solutions has launched 175 new steering part numbers to meet growing demand. The latest additions are on top of 400 steering part numbers launched during 2016. Together, Delphi’s total steering range covers over 24,500 applications and more than 90 per cent of the European vehicle parc. Further range development is planned throughout 2017, with the introduction of more than 450 part numbers.
Pirelli will supply the tyres for the British GT Championship’s blue-riband event: the Silverstone 500. With a single three-hour endurance race, this round features 50 per cent more racing than any other event and unique strategic opportunities for the teams, all of whom race on Pirelli P Zero tyres.
CAM has promoted Frankie Sharp to development project consultant, expanding its custom projects team. The appointment is part of the business’ ongoing investment in its technology solutions to assist UK tyre operators achieve greater efficiency and develop new business opportunities.
