Last season’s engagement with ‘domestic treble’ winner Manchester City F.C. gave Nexen Tire abundant exposure. The tyre maker returns again in 2019/20 as an Official Partner, its fifth season with the club and its third as Sleeve Partner. The current season got underway with a 5-0 win against West Ham last Saturday.
Less than three months after extending its VfL Wolfsburg partnership, Linglong Tire has taken a further step with the German football club by becoming its sleeve partner. As of this season, the tyre maker’s logo will appear on players’ left shirt sleeves during Bundesliga and DFB Cup matches.

The New Zealand government is looking to introduce a regulated product stewardship scheme for end of life tyres (ELTs) that places financial responsibility upon importers and retailers to ensure their products are recycled. Indian automotive components manufacturer Endurance Technologies Limited has informed the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) that it’s halted plans to set up a tyre manufacturing operation. The decision not to expand into this area was made after investors voiced concerns about the project.
In just a few months’ time, Toyo Tire Corporation will begin research and development work at a new site in Europe. The tyre maker is setting up an R&D centre in Willich, Germany to support its future factory in Serbia, and intends to start operations there in the autumn. Having a local R&D presence in the vicinity of vehicle manufacturers and related companies will, says Toyo, be beneficial in terms of the quality and freshness of the information gained.
