GSF Car Parts has hosted its final customer event for 2016, with an evening dinner for around 100 people at Sulgrave Manor, the Tudor and Georgian house built by ancestors of first US President George Washington. Hosted by members of the GSF team, the group of area managers were kept busy cooking and catering to eager dinners, under the expert guidance of professional chefs. Accommodation was provided locally for those that wanted to stay – and the party lasted late into the evening.
Diagnostic equipment supplier Hella Gutmann Solutions (HGS) has a long standing business relationship with independent research centre, Thatcham Research. The firms recently hosted the Repair Focus event, attended by major bodyshop groups and insurance companies, with HGS recalibration system tools for the aftermarket used to carry out specific tests to establish the correct safety procedures when repairing a vehicle. Thatcham has recently issued the ADAS Glazing Code of Practice, which gives clear guidance on the recalibration of ADAS systems during the replacement or refit of windscreens.
Bush Tyres and Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre have assembled some of the world’s most iconic planes and automobiles for a fifth annual extravaganza with the support of Bridgestone. The Props and Pistons event, which will welcome £20 million worth of luxury cars and some of the most famous wartime aircraft, will take place on Monday 31 August, with proceeds going towards Leukemia & Lymphona Research.

Falken was able to put the spotlight on its drifting activities at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last weekend, in conjunction with European drift champion and Falken Motorsports professional drifter James Deane. A series of karting events sponsored by Hull’s Tyremen will conclude with a grand prix finale on Thursday 15 May, having raised around £20,000 for various charities according to Tyremen director Phillip Carlin. The S1 Tyremen Grand Prix started in May last year, and since then ten heats have been held at Hull Karting, with businesses including Smailes Goldie, Sargent Electrical, St Stephen’s, and Royal Bank of Scotland all competing. Organised by The Smile Foundation, drivers raced on behalf of a charity for a slice of the final funds, with each charity coming away with a share.
Bridgestone has won the ‘Deutscher Mediapreis 2014’ award in Germany for its launch of the Adrenalin RE002 urban sports tyre in 2013. The tyre maker’s ‘Ultimate Experience’ launch event was voted top in the ‘Media Idea of the Year: brand experience/event’ category. The award was received by representatives of international media agency PHD Germany and OMG Fuse, agency for brand staging and social media, on behalf of Bridgestone Europe at the Mediapreis awards ceremony in Munich on 6 March.

Tyrexpo Africa 2014’s organisers Singex are describing the show as a success, saying “it lived up to its reputation once again as the major tyre event of the year on the African continent”. According to the company, the show – held from 4 to 6 March at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa – showcased “the widest selection of new brands of leading South African and international manufacturers” and featured 134 exhibitors and welcomed about 1,200 visitors from 17 African and international countries.
