GB Tyres and Linglong sponsor 2020 Tyre Industry Conference

Date: 24th July 2020 Author: Chris Anthony Comments: 0
NTDA Tyre industry awards The 2019 event: After a day conference focusing on investing in the tyre industry’s personnel, technology and the trends associated with the next generation, the 2019 event saw 600 members of the tyre industry gather at the ICC in Birmingham for the 90th annual NTDA dinner and Tyre Industry Awards.

NTDA wholesaler member GB Tyres UK Ltd in association with Linglong Tyres are sponsoring the 2020 Tyre Industry Conference. Sukhi Singh GB Tyres UK Ltd’s managing director said: “We are very pleased to announce our sponsorship of the prestigious NTDA Tyre Industry Conference and Lunch to be held at the VOX, Birmingham on 5th November.”

Singh continued: “In times like these, it’s vital that industry supports our trade body the NTDA, which has worked tirelessly during ‘lockdown’ to ensure members are kept up to date with the latest Covid-19 information, guidelines and other industry developments as well as fighting our corner with Government. The joint sponsorship by GB Tyres and Ling Long Tyres is not only in recognition of the conference’s importance to the tyre and automotive aftermarket industries, but also to give support to the continuation of the event in this ‘new normality’ post Covid-19.”

Commenting on the sponsorship, NTDA Chief Executive Stefan Hay said: “We warmly welcome GB Tyres and Linglong as new sponsors and I am certain that they will take the opportunity to discuss their various key Agricultural, Consumer and Truck Tyre Partnership Programmes with tyre distributors at the conference and provide an update on Linglong’s new European tyre factory in Serbia which is due to open in 2021.”

In addition, GB Tyres UK Ltd will also sponsor the Staff Training and Development Award to be presented at the Tyre Industry Awards during the NTDA’s 91st Annual Dinner in the evening.

According to GB Tyres, staff training and development have been key components in the continued growth and success of the company which is why it was felt appropriate to choose this category in particular as part of its 2020 sponsorship commitment.

Singh concluded: “In the current market conditions when costs are in real focus, staff training and development can occasionally be side-lined, but the reality is companies who continue to invest in their people, often come out stronger in the long term and actually have higher productivity and staff retention. The GB Tyres team looks forward to meeting new and existing customers at the NTDA Annual Awards dinner on the 5th Nov 2020.”
