MRF sales, profits up

Taiwanese tyre manufacturer, Nankang Rubber Tire is to give its Sportnex AS-2+, which has achieved an A for wet braking performance on the European tyre label, its Reifen Show debut in Essen between 24 and 27 May 2016.
According to the company, the AS-2+ came out in September 2015, replacing its predecessor (the AS-2) and is available in 29 sizes.
Belarus-based tyre maker Belshina says it will present its new Artmotion HP passenger car range at this month’s Reifen trade show. The company will also display new additions to its Escortera all-steel truck tyre line-up and its Galero Agro agricultural tyres at its stand (Hall 7, Stand 7A26).
The message to shareholders from Titan International chief executive and chairman Maurice Taylor is not one gladly heard: A 20.0 per cent year-on-year fall in sales during the first quarter of this year has been matched by an 11 per cent decline in sales volumes, a decrease in gross sales and an adjusted net loss of US$9.2 million.

The Winntec Y412500 2.5 ton aluminium floor jack combines a futuristic design with Winntec’s Turbo Lifter pumping technology. Its latest jack, the Winntec Y420330, features a compact yet fully functional design, while an upgrade to Winntec’s Wheel Assist will increase the range’s functionality, the company states.
Lintech International LLC has reported that it has been appointed as a non-exclusive distributor for Solvay Silica in the US, covering markets including the manufactured rubber goods (MRG) market.
Singapore based tyre supplier Firenza will exhibit its full range of car and truck tyres, as well as its Stamford Sport Wheels (SSW) from Thailand. Firenza’s European market targeted ST-05A ultra-high performance tyre will lead the way in the car segment, alongside a multi-application SUV range (AT-186, HT-183 and ST-185), and the SV053 van and light truck tyre. Firenza’s truck products, including the SSR05A steer, SSM07 all position, and super-single range, will also be on the stand.
OBO Tyres will present a stand designed to promote tyre retreading at Reifen 2016. The company’s 100sqm stand will be situated in the Gallery area that connects Hall 2 and 4, with OBO Tyres giving its booth a summer look, presenting large tyres in a beach environment. The retreader says its intention is to draw attention “to the most environmentally friendly” method of tyre production.
Wales’ Huw Lewis Tyres has added a one-click-fit feature and dual-language support to its website in a move that was part-funded by the Michelin Auto Professional programme’s business development fund.
The revamped website showcases the Michelin Certified Centre dealership’s entire tyre product range and service offering in both English and Welsh, along with a ‘find my tyres’ page that matches prospective customers’ cars with their ideal fitments.
Nexen Tire will exhibit “the company, current product lines and future development projects” from a 300sqm stand in Hall 3 (Stand C32) at Reifen 2016.
Michelin will travel to Reifen 2016 with a comprehensive product mix representing its full portfolio of brands. Its booth (Hall 3, Stand C20) will contain Kleber and BFGoodrich, as well as retreading products Recamic and Michelin Remix among other Michelin products and services. Michelin states that it will focus its presentation on the high mileage achievable on its products across product segments.
On 5 April Vipal welcomed Vacu Lug managing director, Tim Hercock to Salvador, Bahia as part of a visit to the retreading materials supplier’s global headquarters and production base. While Vipal Europe manager, Alessandro Campos and Vipal Rubber international business director Aldo Bastos hosted the trip, Cassiano Peliciolli, Vipal’s maintenance and engineering coordinator showed the firm’s tread rubber and motorcycle tyre production sites Bastos initial Vipal institutional presentation.

While these tyres feature a period look and tread design, modern compounds and construction are used, and Pirelli comments that this pairing of classic looks and modern technology allows for better-balanced driving characteristics than can be gained from older, original tyres or non-approved matching-size tyres.
