Exol Lubricants has launched Autotrans DCT, a fully synthetic, multi-vehicle, dual clutch transmission fluid (DCTF). Autotrans DCT offers many benefits in comparison to other dual clutch transmission fluids as it provides superior anti-judder performance, exceptional elastomer compatibility and outstanding low temperature fluidity. In addition, it is highly shear stable, has high levels of thermal and oxidative stability and also has excellent anti-wear properties.
Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. shares that its Dunlop Enasave EC300+ will be fitted as original equipment on the new Toyota Prius, which goes on sale this month. The tyre maker has not specified which markets this deal applies to, however it indicates that the Enasave EC300+ will be supplied to Toyota in size 195/65R15 91S.
Players from Italian Serie A team Juventus F.C. have worked with sponsorship partner Goodyear to produce a short video that draws parallels between safety on the football pitch and on the road. Four Juventus team members, Anderson Hernanes, Sami Khedira, Norberto Murara Neto and Stefano Sturaro, worked with the tyre maker on the project.
Continental AG Executive Board chairman Dr Elmar Degenhart has been awarded the Karmarsch commemorative medal by the Leibniz Universitätsgesellschaft Hannover e.V (Leibniz University Society) in Hannover, Germany. Tyre and rubber component manufacturer Toyo Tire & Rubber has been fined CA$1.7 million by Canada’s Competition Bureau for its participation in an international bid‑rigging conspiracy related to the supply of anti‑vibration components to Toyota Motor Corp, and on 9 December pleaded guilty to three counts of bid rigging under the country’s Competition Act.
Apollo Tyres Ltd reports that Standard & Poor’s company CRISIL has upgraded its long-term rating on the Bank facilities and other debt programmes of the Company from “CRISIL AA/Positive” to “CRISIL AA+/Stable” and reaffirmed its short-term rating as “CRISIL A1+”.
Klarius has released a statement in response to the final report on catalytic convertor type approval from The Department for Transport; the company says it welcomes the report as it “fully vindicates the Klarius assertion that the issues it experienced over type-approval on some CATs late last year was an administrative error – one that was quickly and efficiently resolved working with the VCA.” Furthermore, Klarius has issued an official ‘thank you’ for the trust and loyalty maintained by its customers and partners.
The Department for Transport has ruled on its investigation into allegations of malpractice by Klarius Products Ltd. The principal allegation made against Klarius was that unapproved replacement catalytic converters were being placed on the market in breach of regulation 8(1) of the Motor Vehicle (Replacement of Catalytic Converters and Pollution Control Devices) Regulations 2009.
Heuver Tyrewholesale has added the AE74 radial transport tyre to the range of Aeolus agricultural tyres it offers mainland European customers. Commenting on the tyre’s entry into the Aeolus agri portfolio, company director Bertus Heuver said the AE74 is “a very strong addition to our range.” The multi-purpose AE74 is currently available in size 560/60R22.5, and will soon be available in size 560/60R22.5.
General and specialist haulier MCL Logistics has more than doubled the size of its fleet in the last few years, and reports on its reasons for switching to a Michelin tyre supply agreement. It signed up to a 100 per cent Michelin policy after “being persuaded to switch by the Michelin tyres’ impressive on-road performance” and by the “manufacturer’s “highly proactive” support network.
The Sailun Jinyu Group has informed the Shanghai Stock Exchange about plans for its wholly-owned Vietnamese subsidiary, Sailun (Vietnam) Co., Ltd, to invest up to US$200 million in all-steel belted tyre and off-highway tyre production. At a meeting held on 8 December, the Sailun Jinyu Board of Directors unanimously approved the project.
Tyre and automotive systems manufacturer Continental has donated €100,000 to German non-governmental aid agency Welthungerhilfe in order to support Syrian refugees now living in camps in the Middle East and Turkey. Continental shares that this donation complements activities its employees have carried out at several Continental locations.
Ivalo is the destination of choice for many tyre makers when it comes to testing winter and cold weather products, and Hankook Tire has announced plans to establish its own European winter tyre testing facility near the Finnish village. The company recently signed a contract to build this together with Test World Oy.
