Heuver Tyrewholesale turnover up 18% in 2015

Heuver Tyrewholesale director Bertus Heuver pointed to logistics, online business and new brands such as Barkley as being reasons for the firm’s strong growth

In 2015 Heuver Tyrewholesale increased turnover by 18 per cent. According to the company, this growth represents a major step towards Heuver’s objective of doubling turnover. There firm was also successful online, where Heuver Tyrewholesale realised growth of 14 per cent via its online channel. In terms of brands, Aeolus and Barkley are said to have made a major contribution to the overall result.

Bertus Heuver, director Heuver Tyrewholesale commented: “There were various important achievements in 2015…The highlights included positive developments in our truck department – involving even more intensive and effective focus on stocks, service and pricing policy – and the warm welcome given to our new Barkley brand by the agricultural sector. Aeolus is a very stable success factor in our company and was able to improve its market share. Its worldwide growth – which includes the takeover of Pirelli by parent company ChemChina – continues to increase significantly, which is helping to improve customer confidence.”

Germany was said to have been a particular receptive market in the agricultural business Heuver: “Our customers were very enthusiastic about Barkley during the course of the year. This was witnessed in several European countries, particularly Germany. This proves that brands with a good price/quality ratio can definitely play an important role in today’s challenging market.”

In addition, the number of tyres leaving Heuver’s central warehouse has reportedly reached an all-time high. In 2015, the firm increased the capacity of the warehouse in Bayreuth by 35 per cent and opened a new warehouse in Saint Quentin Fallavier (near Lyon, France). This allowed further improvements to the company’s delivery service.”

Online business increasingly important

The importance of online services has gradually increased ever since the web-shop was introduced in 2008. Bertus Heuver observed: “We have maximised convenience for our customers. The web-shop (turnover growth of 14%) and E-commerce (an increase of 24%) are becoming increasingly important. And the Heuver Tyre app has contributed to this growth, as 2000 new users decided to register for the app last year. Our customers also appreciate our promise not to deliver to end users. This is one of the reasons why our customers remain so loyal to us. We are looking forward to 2016, the year of our 50th anniversary, and will continue to invest in people and intelligent systems in order to further improve our services. Customers and suppliers see how hard we are working, and this helps to create partnerships based on trust.”
