A quartet of Metzeler motorcycle tyres has been unveiled at the EICMA show this week. These are the Sportec M9RR, Roadtec 01 SE, Racetec TD Slick and Roadtec 01 Scooter. All four will arrive in the UK next year.
The long-awaited Vredestein motorcycle tyres for European riders are now here. Visitors to the EICMA show in Italy this week are amongst the first to see the new range, which includes the Centauro ST and Centauro Road. A Vredestein tyre for the scooter segment, the Staccata, is now also available throughout Europe. Details regarding UK distribution for the Vredestein motorcycle tyre range will be announced shortly.
Sales of Michelin motorcycle tyres have doubled within the past five years. The tyre maker also aims to double sales again in the coming five, and will be aided here by a comprehensive renewal within its two-wheeler tyre portfolio in 2020. No less than nine new products will be introduced next year, a line-up expected to represent a quarter of Michelin’s sales within this segment. A new Mitas tyre for custom cruiser motorcycles will be unveiled at the EICMA exhibition next month. Called the Custom Force, the tyre aims to tick all the boxes – Mitas says the new addition to its two-wheeler portfolio offers “durability, stability, comfort and an attractive design.”
Apollo Tyres will present its new radial motorcycle tyre at the EICMA show in Milan, which opens to the public tomorrow. Although the Apollo Alpha-H1 is currently only available in India, it is nevertheless of interest to us as Apollo Tyres confirms that “preparations are now underway to further develop and tune the technology for Europe.” Furthermore, the introduction of two-wheeler tyres in Europe will be facilitated by new development and test facilities within the region.
CST will launch two new off-road tyre pairings at the EICMA motorcycle expo. At its stand at the Milan, Italy trade show, attendees will be able to see the enduro racing CM-723/724 and the motocross oriented CM-733/734. Both pairs aim to offer a competitive mix of performance characteristics and affordability.
The new Michelin Anakee Adventure, which is due to go on sale in January 2019, has been type approved for fitment to the BMW R 1250 GS. According to Matthew Ye, senior vice-president worldwide for Michelin’s 2Wheel business line, the Anakee Adventure will “especially address the needs of those BMW Motorrad customers who essentially use their trail bike on ordinary roads but who occasionally like to indulge in a little off-roading.”
Continuing decades of collaboration, MV Agusta has selected Pirelli as sole tyre supplier, marking the occasion with a limited edition Brutale 800 RR that can be enhanced with exclusive coloured tyres. The Brutale 800 RR Pirelli was created by MV Agusta alongside Pirelli Design, the Bicocca laboratory specialising in collaborative design projects. The new model will be displayed on the MV Agusta stand at EICMA (9-12 November 2017 at Rho Fiera, Milan, Pavilion 22, Stand I48).
Maxxis will be using next week’s EICMA event to treat its fans with a sneak peak at its latest tyre innovations. The tyre manufacturer will be exhibiting plans to introduce its latest ATV and motorcycle tyres to the market. It will also be announcing “exciting new [OE] plans in the pipeline”, and will also be joined by a newly crowned world champion.
No less than five new Bridgestone Battlax motorcycle tyres will be shown to the public for the first time at EICMA 2017 this month. The touring, adventure, scooter and racing segment tyres will be on display at the Bridgestone stand (Hall 24, Stand G57) between 7 and 12 November. The new additions to the Battlax range are:
Two new sizes have been added to both the Mitas Terra Force-R and E-10 ranges, and the Trelleborg Group company is showing all newcomers at its EICMA stand (Hall 10, stand L52) this week, along with other ranges.
This week is EICMA week in Italy, and hundreds of thousands of visitors are expected to attend this year’s show in Milan. Bridgestone will once again be present as an exhibitor, and is unveiling two new tyre lines – the Battlecruise H50 and Battlecross X10.
Two new products will enter the Pirelli scooter tyre range in 2017, and those interested in a sneak preview can see both at the EICMA show in Milan this week. The Italian tyre maker says the new Angel Scooter and Diablo Rosso Scooter will be “available with a complete range of sizes” and will progressively replace and expand upon the current Diablo Scooter range during the course of next year.
