Bridgend’s Tyre Boss has become the UK agent for Techking Tires. The Qingdao, China based tyre manufacturer is a specialist in OTR tyre segments, fitted to heavy machinery in a variety of applications. Its new UK agent has pressed on with ambitious growth and expansion plans in 2020. Its latest development follows the acquisition of two warehouses, a large tyre press and a successful ISO audit so far this year.
Commenting on its agreement in principle to buy a majority stake in European Agriculture Tyre Distributor (EATD), Mahansaria Tyres Private Limited (MTPL) states that it intends to build a global, market leading off-highway tyre business. MTPL describes the acquisition as its first step towards building its distribution network in Europe and developing EATD into “a leading” European distributor. EATD has also announced that it will distribute MTPL tyres in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, along with continuing to act as a distributor for Tianli tyres.
EATD recently disclosed plans to bring a new investor on board, and when we spotted Yogesh Mahansaria visiting the distributor’s stand at Agritechnica 2019 the list of potential investor candidates suddenly became a whole lot shorter. Mahansaria is indeed the new investor; EATD confirms that Mahansaria Tyres Private Limited (MTPL) has reached an in-principle agreement to acquire a major stake in the company.
Spanish tyre distributor Grupo Soledad has entered into an agreement with Sailun Tyre that gives it exclusive distribution of the Sailun brand in Spain and Portugal. The distribution agreement was signed by the Sailun Group’s European management and José Pérez, commercial director of Grupo Soledad.

Alliance Tire Group (ATG) has announced that, as of this month, Europa Tyres is its main wholesale distributor for the Galaxy tyre brand in mainland UK. Europa Tyres will distribute the complete Galaxy range, including radial OTR and solid tyres.
Continental is planning to open a Middle East regional office in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Dublin-based Industrial Tyre Specialists (ITS) has been appointed the aftermarket distributor for Camso products in Ireland. ITS will distribute the full line-up of Camso products for the construction and material handling segments, offering next-day delivery nationwide.
Ready for the summer season, the STARCO subsidiary in Switzerland has received the first car tyres from Kenda and is ready to begin its new role as the brand’s national distributor. Commenting on the new arrangement, STARCO’s Richard Todd noted that the company was exploring many synergies with Kenda over both the short and long-term.
Davanti will be distributed in South Africa by Tyremart, one of the country’s largest independent tyre fitment franchises. With immediate effect, Tyremart will promote and sell the complete Davanti range of car, 4×4/SUV and light commercial vehicle tyres having signed an exclusive distribution agreement.

Autoparts UK was named the UAN distributor of the year at the recent Groupauto/UAN Gala Dinner and Trade Show. The parts distributor, which operates out of 12 branches with a head office in Glasgow, Scotland, has been a member of the group for nearly 10 years.
