The biennial awards ceremony took place during the IAA show and saw Goodyear Dunlop Tires honoured for its ‘One Second’ commercial. One Second also won a black award for best direction and best editing. Bridgestone Australia’s Bandag Manufacturing retreading operation has completed the first part of a project that will enable its Wacol plant in Brisbane to harvest and store more than one million litres of rainwater. Bandag added 13 new rainwater tanks to its existing harvesting capabilities at the end of August, enabling the business to collect and store an extra 610,000 litres of water. Stage two will be completed in the coming months and will take Bandag’s total rainwater storage capacity to 1,100,000 litres.

Goodyear reports its selection as exclusive tyre partner to the MAN ProfiDrive driver training programme. As such, all 25 tractor units and trailers used at the main MAN ProfiDrive facility in Germany will be changed over to Goodyear tyres – they will be fitted with FuelMax and KMax tyres along with Omnitrac II mixed-service range. Going forwards, new vehicles entering the MAN ProfiDrive fleet will be fitted from new with Goodyear tyres. Goodyear will take over all tyre service duties and also provide ProfiDrive trainers with tyre training.
Giti Tire has appointed two new business development managers for its truck and bus tyre business in the Spanish market. Rosaura Maria Gonzalez Frade (Rosa) and Daniel Gonzalez Martin (Dani) will be jointly responsible for increasing the existing business of truck and bus products, working in close cooperation with the country’s business partners and fleets to secure long-term partnerships.
