Yokohama tyres supplied to Mercedes-AMG E-Class 53-Series

Yokohama Advan Sport V105

Mercedes-AMG has selected the Yokohama Advan Sport V105 tyre as original equipment for its new E 53 4MATIC+ (ISG installed) series. Yokohama began supplying its global flagship tyre in June 2018 in two size sets: in 19-inch, the tyre manufacturer is supplying 245/40ZR19 98Y (front) and 275/35ZR19 100Y (rear) sizes, and for 20-inch rims it is supplying 245/35ZR20 95Y (front) and 275/30ZR20 97Y (rear). The new E-Class 53-series was launched worldwide in summer 2018 and announced in Japan in September 2018. It includes sedan, station wagon, coupe and cabriolet models.

The Advan Sport V105 is a high performance tyre developed by Yokohama Rubber primarily for use on high-power premium cars, combining superior performance, comfort and safety characteristics. The tyres being supplied to Mercedes-AMG were jointly developed and bear the automaker’s “MO” mark of approval on the sidewall.

Under its three-year medium-term management plan, GD2020, launched in February 2018, Yokohama Rubber positioned the expansion of its premium tyre market position as the core goal for its consumer tyre business. One specific strategy for achieving this is to increase its original equipment fitments on premium cars in Japan and abroad. Its “premium-car tyre strategy” aims for brand premiumisation via its association with leading car manufacturers.
