On 3 December 2019, Manchester Crown Court cleared five current and past directors and managers of Klarius Products Ltd of charges of selling non-typed approved catalytic converters. Nexen Tire back with Man City for 2019/20

Last season’s engagement with ‘domestic treble’ winner Manchester City F.C. gave Nexen Tire abundant exposure. The tyre maker returns again in 2019/20 as an Official Partner, its fifth season with the club and its third as Sleeve Partner. The Parts Alliance hosts first national conference

40% of motorists drive on “dangerous” or “very dangerous” tyres

Almost 40 per cent of cars in the UK are running on at least one tyre that is “dangerously” or “very dangerously” underinflated.

The figures come after Michelin and Kwik Fit inspected more than 500 vehicles in Tesco car parks around the UK.

Michelin classifies tyres that are between 7psi and 14psi below the manufacturer’s recommendation as “dangerously underinflated”, while 14 psi or more underinflation is deemed to be “very dangerous.”

Manchester tyre store PPM Autocare rebrands as HiQ West Gorton

HiQ has added Manchester tyre store PPM Autocare to its franchise network. The store, which has a good local reputation according to HiQ, will reopen as HiQ West Gorton. Commenting on the decision to move to the HiQ Network, workshop manager Phil Statham, said: “Having previously worked for HiQ I knew how PPM would fit well into the network. The level of support and communication we received prior to joining the HiQ network was excellent. It made the move to a HiQ branded store seamless. We are excited to see where the future takes us with HiQ.”

4 tyres and a bag of carrots please

In what is probably the most unorthodox tyre retail marketing campaign Tyres & Accessories has ever reported on, Tyre Warehouse in Timperley, Greater Manchester is offering a bag of carrots with every purchase. It is not clear if the deal is connected to a wider healthy eating narrative or whether it is particularly aimed at people called Peter or Bugs, but the banner makes it clear: “Free bag of carrots with every tyre” in a font bigger than the word tyre of the address of the depot.
