It is reported that China-based Guangzhou Fengli Tyre and Rubber has started work on a project at its plant in Conghua, Guangdon Province, to install annual capacity for 10 million eco-friendly, high-performance tyres.

According to the company, Sideflex is one of Erlau’s latest innovations and helps avoid sidewall damage to expensive and valuable dump-truck tyres for construction and mining equipment in particular earthmoving machines.

This year Pirelli initiated a mould cure retreading pilot project under the “Novatread” brand name. A new survey from Bridgestone and road safety charity, Brake shows that over a third of primary school parents (35 per cent) have witnessed near misses outside the school gates. More than half (55 per cent) of survey respondents said they worried about their child’s safety near roads on the school run.
Cooper Tire Europe has produced a new video with the help of its partner, Arsenal Football Club. Midfielders, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Özil, and forward, Lukas Podolski were asked to show their accuracy skills on a bespoke structure topped with four of Cooper’s Zeon CS Sport performance tyres. Klarius has announced an increase in its stock of exhausts required to solve a suspected design issue with Peugeot 207s manufactured during early 2008. Avon Tyres, the only motorcycle tyre maker in Britain, is exhibiting at Europe’s biggest motorcycle show. Intermot is being staged at Cologne’s Kölnmesse – the venue set to host a new BRV-backed rival to Messe Essen’s Reifen, and one of Europe’s largest exhibition centres. Intermot started on 1 October, and will run until the fifth, with Avon exhibiting a full range of sport-touring, race, road, and classic motorcycle tyres from stand A038 in hall 6.1.
