National Tyres to Sell Tyres on eBay

Date: 14th April 2010 Author: Admin Comments: 0

National Tyres and Autocare reports that it has teamed up with eBay to offer car and van tyres to consumers online. National joins well known retail names Tesco, Argos and Debenhams as a top rated seller on the popular site. According to the company, the new partnership enables National to “reach out to a greater number of customers.”

Michael Bourne, group marketing director at National Tyres and Autocare, commented: “We are always looking at innovative ways to reach new markets. Our research found that traditional eBay customers were unlikely to consider high street retailers for their tyre purchases, assuming prices to be uncompetitive.

By bringing our proposition directly to this customer base, we have proven that there is a market for competitively priced new tyres coupled with the convenience of a nationwide fitting network and the outstanding customer service you’d expect from a trusted national brand.”

Tyre shopper awarded Hitwise top 10 for fifth time

In a separate announcement the company reported that NTA-linked Tyre Shopper has won its fifth Top 10 Shield from online market analysts Hitwise since 2007. Hitwise monitors the internet usage of over eight million online consumers in the UK. Every six months, the company awards the top 10 websites from over one million across 165 industries in the UK.

From July to December 2009, Tyre Shopper ranked as number eight based on popularity among all websites in the Shopping and Classifieds – Automotive industry. A spokesperson for Tyre Shopper commented: “We are delighted to have once again won the Hitwise Top 10 Award and to be climbing up the top 10 ranking. To be recognised as a leader in our industry in the current economic climate is a testament to the dedication, commitment and outstanding levels of customer service provided by all our staff.”

n-TECH offers the latest high performance parts

In a further development of its online strategy, last May National Tyres and Autocare launched a sister site called n-TECH, which is designed to cater for the specialist needs of the high performance market. The site offers alloy wheel and tyre packages from leading brands such as TSW, MAK, TSR, Advanti, Beyern, Finichi, Kei Racing, Mandrus, Redbourne and Victor.

n-TECH also offers a wide range of high performance brake pads from EBC Brakes including the most popular performance upgrade ‘Green Stuff’,  ‘Red Stuff’ for higher powered vehicles and ‘Yellow Stuff’ for track and fast road use.

For those customers wishing to upgrade their entire braking system, n-TECH also offers EBC’s sports brake discs, ‘Turbo Groove’ (sports performance) and ‘Ultimax Slotted’ (quieter high performance).

n-TECH also provides a full performance exhaust fitting service at any of National’s 210 branches offering the two most popular, custom made, stainless-steel sports exhaust brands in the UK, Scorpion and Piper.

With a network of 210 performance fitting centres throughout the UK to choose from and over 1,000 highly trained autocare technicians, customers can be confident that they’ll receive a high quality, professional and efficient service.

Referring to the n-Tech launch, Michael Bourne commented: “This is a very natural extension to our core business and there is a clear market opportunity for an established national brand to break into the high performance end of the market. In the past, this has been the sole domain of local independent dealers, but our research shows a real demand for a national company that can not only supply competitively priced products, but can also provide a free fitting service, backed up by comprehensive guarantees on a nationwide basis. In this respect, we believe our proposition to be unique.”
