Yokohama tyres fitted to Chelsea FC team bus

Yokohama has added a further initiative to its shirt sponsorship link with Chelsea FC; the manufacturer is fitting its tyre to the team bus. Chelsea will roll into Watford FC’s Vicarage Road ground for the squad’s first away fixture of the 2016/17 season on Yokohama 104ZR coach and bus tyres. The company has also fitted its high-performance, premium car tyres to a number of the players’ own cars.

Vacu-Lug’s commitment to the retreading sector and the personal development of its team has been illustrated by successes in City & Guilds examination successes. The retread specialist has been entering candidates for the City & Guilds examinations for Part 1 Retread Workshop Practice for many years, and the latest successful entrants for the qualification included ten of its team members. Jason Humphries not only achieved a Distinction pass, but was awarded the highest mark nationwide. Two Credit passes awarded to Dave Alsop and Elaine Dable.

‘Strong demand’ for new Vacu-Lug Logistik, Duramold retreads following CV Show

Vacu-Lug has reported a strong response to the launch of its two new Logistik tyres.  The new 315/80R22.5 Logistik LD01 drive and 385/65R22.5 Logistik Supersingle LT01 trailer tyres were shown alongside a selection of Duramold tyres, including the new 315/70R22.5 T100 drive at the recent CV Show at Birmingham’s NEC.

Vacu-Lug manufacturing investment, contracts a way forward in contracted UK market

Vacu-Lug’s stand at the recent Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham provided a summary of the tripartite business of one of the UK’s largest retreaders. Featuring its Vacu-Lug Management System (VMS) for online fleet application; its UK exclusive distribution of ZC Rubber’s (or Hangzhou Zhongce’s) Westlake truck tyre product range. in partnership with global Westlake partner Zenises; and Vacu-Lug’s own retread range – including the latest “premium” Logistik drive LD01 and the Logistik trailer LT01 retreads, and Duramold tyres designed for a cross-section of heavy and light truck operations – the company showed its relatively recent evolution into more rounded service provision. In terms of its retreading activities, estimated by the company to account for just under a fifth of the UK market, the last year saw upgrades to the Lincolnshire business’ manufacturing, with a second 12-segment, high pressure (300psi) press installed, with which its Logistik brand products are produced, alongside further phases of its new conveyor system and other general upgrades designed to improve product flow, utilisation, productivity, efficiency, and housekeeping. Tyres & Accessories spoke with Vacu-Lug fleet sales director, Dave Alsop during the show, who explained how the company has reacted to the contraction of UK retreading and various other challenges in the market.

Three new retread CV tyres from Vacu-Lug

Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres has introduced three new retread tyres for the heavier end of the commercial vehicle transport sector. A size 315/80R22.5 model has been added to its Logistik LD01 drive pattern, manufactured using the latest 12-segment, high pressure tyre press. The LD01 provides optimal performance and longevity to reduce operating costs with low rolling resistance and a competitive cost-per-kilometre.

Vacu Lug visits Vipal in Brazil

On 5 April Vipal welcomed Vacu Lug managing director, Tim Hercock to Salvador, Bahia as part of a visit to the retreading materials supplier’s global headquarters and production base. While Vipal Europe manager, Alessandro Campos and Vipal Rubber international business director Aldo Bastos hosted the trip, Cassiano Peliciolli, Vipal’s maintenance and engineering coordinator showed the firm’s tread rubber and motorcycle tyre production sites Bastos initial Vipal institutional presentation.

BNP Paribas Rental Solutions renews Vacu-Lug contract

BNP Paribas Rental Solutions has renewed its contract with Vacu-Lug. Vacu-Lug ramps up production to match Logistik tyre demand

Grantham, Lincolnshire-based Vacu-Lug reports that it has ramped up retread production in light of increased demand for its Logistik range of tyres. Vacu-Lug, launched its Logistik 295/80R22.5 commercial vehicle drive axle tyre in November 2014. In early 2015, the new Logistik Drive 315/70R22.5 followed and is reportedly already proving popular across the commercial vehicle sector. The demand is such that a second tyre press has recently been installed.

Vacu-Lug rolls out new Westlake Tyre range

Following its launch at the IAA Show in Hannover in October 2014, Vacu-Lug, the sole UK distributor for all Westlake truck and bus radial tyres, has launched the range in the UK.

According to the company, the Westlake range offers a choice of 17.5”, 19.5” and 22.5” rim diameters and consists of four applications: Long Haul, Regional, Mixed Service and Max Load.

Vacu-Lug wins Countrystyle Recycling tyre contract

Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres has secured a new tyre supply contract with Countrystyle Recycling. Countrystyle reportedly opted for the Vacu-Lug full tyre supply and fleet management solution because it wanted “increased visibility and standardisation within a tyre agreement and was impressed by the advanced control and reporting systems that Vacu-Lug offered.”

Countrystyle has specified Vacu-Lug, Pirelli, Formula and Westlake tyres, depending on the vehicle type involved. They are managed through Vacu-Lug’s VMS tyre fleet management system and all fitments and breakdowns are supplied and covered by ATS Euromaster.
