Thomas Harbo returns as CEO of Euromaster Danmark A/S

Effective 4 January 2023, Thomas Harbo has been appointed as CEO of Euromaster Danmark A/S. Thomas replaces Henrik Fusager, who since August 2022 has held the dual role of CEO of both Euromaster Denmark and Euromaster Switzerland.

Euromaster appoints Nick Harley MD of UK operations

Career Tracks

From November, Tructyre managing director Nick Harley will become MD of all Euromaster Group companies in the UK. Reporting to Benoit Hubert, Harley will be responsible for both ATS Euromaster and Tructyre. Vitor Silva, the current MD of ATS, will take on the role of chief performance officer for Euromaster Group and be based in France.

Euromaster targeting 25% online growth in 2018

Michelin reports an aim of growing online sales through its Euromaster retail network in the UK and Europe by 25 per cent in 2018. This projected growth follows a 30 per cent increase in online sales through Euromaster this year, with online sales accounting for 15 per cent of all Euromaster sales in 2017.

ATS Euromaster secures ISO 9001:2015

ATS Euromaster has gained the latest ISO 9001 certification a full two and a half years ahead of deadline – making it the only national tyre and vehicle service provider to hold the highest award for quality management. New regulations mean that by September 2018, organisations that hold current ISO 9001 certification will have to prove that they meet the more stringent requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

Euromaster names new head of franchise for Germany

Bärbel Rankl has been appointed head of franchise for the Euromaster network in Germany. She succeeds Franz Häring, who has taken up a position with parent company Michelin. “Over the past five years Franz Häring has successfully built up the business area, with its more than 70 franchise partners,” commented Andreas Berents, managing director for the German and Austrian Euromaster operations.

Euromaster appoints new MD for Germany and Austria

Andreas Berents has been named Euromaster’s new managing director for Germany and Austria. His succession of Dr. Matthias Schubert in this role takes effect in late June; Schubert has left Euromaster “at his own request” and will take up a new role within the industry in September.

The Tire Cologne ‘confirms key players’ for 2018 opening

The Tire Cologne – the Koelnmesse organised rival exhibition to Messe Essen’s Reifen series, commencing in 2018 – has fired the starting pistol in its registration phase. The exhibition, which will take place in Cologne at the same time as Reifen 2018 in Essen (29 May to 1 June 2018), will feature important tyre and wheel business players from across the industry.

NEX gains exclusive Riken, Kumho, Taurus and Jinyu tyre distribution deals

NEX, the newly formed Spanish tyre wholesaler, has reported details of its exclusive brand portfolio. The company, which appointed Luis Miguel Muñoz as managing director in October 2014, was formed when Euromaster and Rodi Motor Services merged their distribution operations. According, to the company NEX started its independent distribution and delivery operations in Spain last December.

Michelin partners in Spanish wholesale joint venture

At around the same time that Michelin moved to acquire 100 per cent of German tyre wholesaler Ihle Baden-Baden, the company gained approval to enter the Spanish wholesale market. On 12 September 2014, the Spanish National Authority for Markets and Competition (Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia) gave its approval for Euromaster Automoción y Servicios, S.A.U. and Rodi Metro, S.L., which operates the 150+ Rodi Motor Services retail network in Spain, to form a new wholesaling operation to distribute car and light commercial vehicle tyres within the country. Rodi says the wholesale operation has been set up as a 50/50 partnership.

Further loss for Germany’s Top Service Team

Following the announcement last year that its network would shrink by more than 100 outlets with the departure of two key members, German retail cooperative Top Service Team (team Reifen-Union GmbH+Co. Top Service Team KG) looks set to lose a further dozen centres. Cooperative member Gummi Berger has given notice that it intends to leave Top Service Team after 27 years of membership; the 12 outlet fast fit and service chain intends to become a Euromaster franchise partner.

Michelin franchises to more than double within 5 years

At present, Michelin operates around 2,000 franchised dealer points of sale around the world; according to information published in the tyre maker’s 2012 annual results presentation, the exact figure is 2013. Yet within a few short years, this number should this number should increase by around 150 per cent. Michelin says it intends to have 5,000 franchised dealer points of sale by 2017.
