Following the news that The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has appointed ex-Brisa and Bridgestone executive Hakan Bayman as president of Goodyear’s consumer tyre business in Europe, it has emerged that former Goodyear Dunlop UK MD, Erich Fric has been appointed as Goodyear managing director Europe Central. Both appointments are effective 1 July 2020.

As David Anckaert, vice president at Goodyear in the EMEA region and responsible for Consumer Replacement Europe, wrote on 22 June in an internal “Organization Update EMEA”, Erich Fric will take over the role of managing director Consumer Europe Central. The Europe Central sales area includes the DACH and Benelux markets. There, Fric will be responsible in the future, “to further promote the success of our Consumer Products business unit in the respective markets”.

Born in Austria, Fric has worked for Goodyear since 1994, most recently in the position of managing director Consumer North Europe. Erich Fric will report directly to David Anckaert.

Prior to this Fric was appointed Goodyear Dunlop UK group managing director in July 2012.
