The number of dealers in the UK subscribed to open-access commercial tyre service app e-jobsheet has reached 60. The app connects dealers to several tyre manufacturers, allowing commercial tyre service providers to save administration time and money when conducting third party work. Michelin extends Track Connect to amateur racers with Leisure mode

Michelin has developed its Michelin Track Connect motorsport monitoring system with a new Leisure mode. The new mode is the third available in the tyre monitoring system, and the first designed to extend its accessibility to all users, regardless of the type of tyre fitted. The new mode joins Expert mode for track day participants looking for to improve their performance, and Motorsport mode for rally drivers – and soon track competitors too. Both of these modes require the Michelin Track Connect Kit – comprising sensors and a Bluetooth receiver as well as the smartphone app – and connected Michelin tyres, unlike the Leisure mode. The system has recently become original equipment on the new Renault Clio Rally.

New and existing users of the Repxpert app have the exclusive opportunity to win a Ring RBS50 borescope inspection video camera. Nankang Tyre launches mobile games for iOS and Android

Nankang Tyre has launched two tyre games for Android and iOS mobile devices: Tyre Maker and Tyre Run. Both are available free to download worldwide on Android and iOS. The Taiwan tyre manufacturer says part of the purpose of the apps is “to relieve the boredom of being stuck at home due to COVID-19.” The games were developed in collaboration with digital design company King One Design. Users can download Tyre Maker here on iOS devices, or here on Android devices, while Tyre Run is available here (iOS) or here (Android).

Bridgestone’s car tyre business is currently pushing boundaries to offer services beyond replacement tyres to motorists. The most obvious way the manufacturer is approaching this is in the application of its DriveGuard run-flat technology beyond the original line of DriveGuard car tyres. Michelin has bought Tablet, an online travel agency specializing in boutique and luxury hotels. Headquartered in New York, Tablet was founded in 2000 by Laurent Vernhes and Michael Davis to provide a high-quality selection of unique hotel experiences to millions of travellers, and an associated booking platform. The purchase of The Tablet follows Michelin’s earlier purchase of Bookatable.com in January 2016 and Restaurantes.com in December 2016.
