COVID-19 is limbering up to cast its shadow over us for a third year, and exhibition organisers are cancelling or postponing shows scheduled for the early months of 2022. Agricultural sector fair the LAMMA Show is the latest to announce that it won’t take place on the previously announced dates.
Bridgestone says it is “sowing the seeds for a busy season of sales amongst farmers and contractors, following what it describes as its “best ever” showing at LAMMA. Agriculture sales manager Stephen Lamb and his team presented the features of the manufacturer’s premium VT-Tractor range. With spring drilling planned for the coming weeks and months, and the UK’s wet weather causing headaches, the VT range offsets the worst that these elements can throw at farmers as it can operate at lower inflation pressures. With much larger footprints, the wettest and boggiest of land is still protected as a result.
Visitors to this week’s LAMMA show are amongst the first to see a new Alliance radial tractor tyre, the Agri Star II. Alliance Tyre Group (ATG) will launch the Agri Star II around the world in the weeks following its LAMMA debut, with 76 SKUs across the 70-s and 85- series available right from the start. This range is expected to cover almost 100 per cent of market requirements.
Vredestein has chosen the largest British farm machinery, equipment and service show, LAMMA 2020 (NEC Birmingham, 7/8 January) to introduce the newest addition to its agricultural range, the Traxion 65 tyre, to the UK market.
Vredestein will also show the Traxion XXL tested by independent German test institute DGL (and the test results) together with LAMMA 2019 Innovation Awards ‘Driven Innovation’ winner, the Traxion Optimall.

Magna Tyres Group has signed a new partnership with UK rubber track supplier Sly Agri Ltd. The strategic agreement enables Sly Agri to purchase and resell the Rubber Track retread for the agricultural sector. The contract was signed by George Sly and Stephan van Leeuwen during the LAMMA Show in Birmingham.
Alliance Tire Group (ATG) is showcasing the brand’s agricultural expertise at LAMMA, the UK’s largest agricultural and machinery show (8-9 January 2019, Birmingham NEC). It is displaying its row crop Agriflex 363 IF and the Agriflex 372 VF for tractors, the Alliance 389VF, Alliance 885 and Alliance 882 Agri-Transport radial flotation tyres for implements, and the versatile Multiuse 550. The Alliance agricultural tyre range is exclusively distributed in the UK and Ireland by Kirkby Tyres.
Vredestein has been awarded the gold medal in the LAMMA 2019 Innovation Awards’ Driven Innovation category for its Traxion Optimall tyre. This VF (very high flexion) tractor tyre is designed to deliver traction, fuel efficiency and productivity to reduce substantially the total cost of ownership. It will be displayed on the Vredestein stand at LAMMA Birmingham, the UK’s largest farm machinery, equipment and services show, on 8-9 January.
Michelin’s X Tweel SSL airless tyre and wheel combination will make its UK public debut at Lamma 2018 later this month. The skid steer loader fitment is the first Tweel model to arrive this side of the Atlantic. It comes to market in January and will be available in two versions – the All Terrain (AT), which features a deep, open tread for off-road applications and use on varying surfaces, and the Hard Surface Traction (HST), with its smooth tread featuring a 100 per cent contact patch, for frequent use on hard surfaces such as asphalt or concrete.
The LAMMA show got under way today at the East of England Showground in Peterborough, and Michelin is using the occasion to host an exclusive UK preview of its all-new AxioBib 2 tyre range, allowing farmers and contractors to view the new agricultural tyre ahead of the planned international launch in June 2017. The new Kleber Cropker is also on display – both tyres can be viewed on stand G33.
The all-new Michelin AxioBib 2 tyre range will debut in the UK at LAMMA 2017 in January, a month ahead of its planned international debut. The new tyre range will initially be available in two Very High Flexion dimensions, VF 650/65 R42 and VF 540/65 R30, and has been designed to meet rising demand for tyres that can accommodate large loads at lower pressures. AxioBib 2 tyres can be viewed throughout the LAMMA Show at the East of England Showground on 18 and 19 January 2017, on Michelin stand G33.
