Vredestein exhibiting at LAMMA 2020

Vredestein lamma Vredestein is launching Traxion 65 agricultural tyre at LAMMA 2020

Vredestein has chosen the largest British farm machinery, equipment and service show, LAMMA 2020 (NEC Birmingham, 7/8 January) to introduce the newest addition to its agricultural range, the Traxion 65 tyre, to the UK market.

Vredestein will also show the Traxion XXL tested by independent German test institute DGL (and the test results) together with LAMMA 2019 Innovation Awards ‘Driven Innovation’ winner, the Traxion Optimall.

The successor to the popular Traxion+, Vredestein’s new Traxion 65 incorporates new technologies derived from the development of the flagship VF tyre, the Traxion Optimall. The foundation for the development of the tread design is the proven Traxion concept with its recognisable curved lug shape.

The extra-large contact area in the centre of the tread of the Traxion 65 is designed to ensure “continuous road contact for a comfortable ride”. As in-cabin noise together with vibrations are increasingly seen as the main comfort factors by professional drivers, the Vredestein tyres were tested for in-cabin noise against one of the brand’s main premium European competitors. The test conducted at an RDW test track (ISO certified: ISO10844:2014) came to a lower in-cabin noise of up to 29% compared to its premium competitor. These exceptionally low sound levels will give a new degree of comfort to tractor drivers using the Traxion 65. Drive-by noise, important for local communities when agricultural traffic frequently passes through populated areas, was also tested to be 22% better.

In addition to extraordinary comfort and traction, the Traxion 65 has at least a 30% longer lifespan compared to its other premium competitors thanks to the unique tread compound and the lug surface in the centre.

The popular 650/65R42 and the 650/65R38 sizes with their corresponding front tyre sizes will be available in the UK next year.

Vredestein will also show the Traxion XXL tyres recently tested by DLG: results confirmed Vredestein Traxion tyres to be a far more economical option than competitor tractor tyres over their lifetime. To be more specific, the Vredestein Traxion XXL has a 50% longer lifespan, which ultimately results in a saving of 1 euro per operational hour per tractor.

DLG fitted Vredestein Traxion XXL tyres and tyres from a premium competitor on six John Deere 6215R tractors in Germany. To ensure the results were comparable, each tractor was fitted with the JD Link, a system which logs the work and position of the tractor. The tyre sizes tested were in the popular combination 710/70 R 42 rear and 600/70 R 28 front. DLG found that the Vredestein Traxion XXL had an over 50% longer lifespan compared to the premium reference tyre.

Vredestein’s premium tractor tyre Traxion Optimall, winner of LAMMA 2019 Innovation Awards, will also be on the stand. The Optimall makes the most of Vredestein’s F+ technology, which combines exceptional flexibility with stability. The bead stabiliser with specially-designed rigid upper bead zone boosts stability even at low pressure, giving the tyre 10% more radial stiffness, and therefore safer handling, than comparable models.

Vredestein’s stand is #6.504 in Hall 6.
