TRIB partnering with Tyrexpo Asia – Inter-Sprint & Tyreworld exhibiting

Tyrexpo Asia 2021 is taking place in Singapore between 17 and 19 November, and event organiser Tarsus South East Asia shares that US-based association the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) is partnering with the event. Tarsus has also announced the participation of two further exhibitors, Dutch wholesaler Inter-Sprint and German online tyre sales service Tyreworld (B. Fuhrmann Einzelhandel GmbH).

TRMG launches new website

In the USA, the Tread Rubber and Tire Repair Materials Manufacturers’ Group (TRMG) has launched a new website at www.retreadrepair.org

The TRMG says that the new site is its first online platform featuring industry news and events, and links to educational materials including Industry Recommended Practices, designed to promote quality practices and processes in the tyre retread and tyre repair industry.

Global Retreading Conference comes to Tire Cologne

One of the latest additions to the Tire Cologne programme is the Global Retreading Conference. According to its organisers, the European retreading association BIPAVER, “the best experts from around the world, the most important technologies, trends and developments and the best cases from all important markets” will be discussed.

TRIB taking part in Tire Cologne

From 29 May to 1 June 2018 the tyre industry meets for the first Tire Cologne. The US Tire Retread Information Bureau (TRIB) will also be in attendance. Indeed, David Stevens, TRIB’s managing director, is giving a presentation entitled “Overview of the US retreading market and improvements in plant efficiency” as part of the Global Retreading Conference that is running alongside Tire Cologne. The Global Retreading Conference has been organised by the BIPAVER European retreading association.

Harvey Brodsky dies

Harvey Brodsky, the former managing director of TRIB and founder of RTA, died on 17 September following complication from lung cancer. Brodsky had been diagnosed in March and given two to three weeks to live, but fought the illness for another six months.

Tim BeVier elected TRIB president

Bipaver: European retreaders suffering due to a “lack of legislation”

According to Bipaver, the number of truck tyres retreaded in Europe has fallen by a third in the last five years, and it fears this trend will continue unless the European Commission moves quickly to implement legislation that protects against the dumping of low-priced new tyres.

TRIB exhibiting at Great American Trucking Show

The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau says it will be present as an exhibitor at The Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Texas from 27 to 29 August. The organisation views trades exhibitions such as this as “important opportunities to speak directly to end-users to showcase the benefits of retreaded tyres,” and during the show will display a large-screen version of its two latest videos (The Environmental Benefits of Retreading and The True Causes of Rubber on the Roads) and distribute copies of its 16-page ‘Understanding Retreading’ brochure.

TRIB’s Stevens to speak at Latin American & Caribbean Tyre Expo

The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) shares that its managing director, David Stevens, will once again be a featured speaker at the Latin American & Caribbean Tyre Expo. This year’s event, which takes place in Panama City between 16 and 18 July, will be the fourth year in a row that Stevens has attended the show in this capacity.

Environmental benefits of retreading the focus of new TRIB video

The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) and the American Commercial Tire Network (ACTN) have jointly launched a video highlighting the environmental benefits of retreading. The video can be seen on the retreading organisation’s YouTube channel and in the video section of its website. TRIB says it will also display and distribute the video at the trade shows it attends and offer it to news outlets in order to highlight the positive environmental aspects of retreading.
