Bridgestone adds aircraft tire retreading warehouse

Founded by Everett D. Richards Sr. and now operated by his eldest son, Dave Richards Jr. Canton Bandag Co. is celebrated 55 years as a Bandag franchise.
Canton Bandag moved to its current 23,000 square foot in June of 2000 at 3321 Bruening Avenue, Canton, Ohio, located near the intersections of Route 77 north and south and State Route 30 east and west.

Double Coin’s US marketing arm, CMA, has enhanced the warranty on the company’s retreads to seven years and three retreads for all Double Coin Truck and Bus Radial (TBR) tyres, the company announced.
Through its subsidiary Marangoni Kauçuk, Marangoni Retreading Systems has established a new warehouse and head office in Istanbul. From this site, Marangoni will both supply the Turkish city’s retreaders and its nationwide network.
Bandvulc managing director Patrick O’Connell, who started in the family tyre retreading business by working on the factory floor in his school holidays, stepped down as MD of the Bandvulc group of companies on 1 May 2017. According to the company, he will now “spend more time on other projects within Continental”, Bandvulc’s owner since the tyre giant purchased the retreader and fleet business last July.

Bandag is marking its 60th anniversary with the launch of a new global campaign that aims to “reinvigorate the retread category.” The retreading specialist, which has been a business of Bridgestone Americas and part of Bridgestone Corporation since 2007, is introducing its “Built for Better” platform to unite the Bandag brand globally and to position retreads as an “innovative, sustainable business solution for fleet customers of any size.”
Insa-Turbo has named Micheldever the sole distributor for the UK, building on the long-standing relationship between the two companies. Micheldever has distributed Insa-Turbo tyres – which are retreaded – for more than 10 years and in 2016 saw the brand grow by more than 15 per cent. Now the company is looking forward to future success with the Spanish off-road specialists.
B&J Rocket’s Airbot buffing tools are now available with a diameter of 76mm in addition to the existing diameters of 50, 100 and 150mm.
Goodyear is offering a new guarantee of 100 per cent acceptance of casings, with no visual defects, within Goodyear’s Customer Own Casing (COC) scheme. Continental has introduced a new 19.5” fitment for its urban bus tyre, the Conti Urban HA3, part of its third-generation commercial vehicle tyre range. Tyres for this application are placed under higher stress in the inner-city public transport segment than in any other area of application, Conti states.
