At a dealer meeting held by Aeolus on 16 December 2022, Wang Feng delivered a speech as “Chairman of China National Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. (CNRC) and Chairman of Aeolus”. Wang Feng emphasised that in 2021, the sales revenue of Aeolus, Prometeon Tyre Group S.r.l. (PTG), and Pirelli ranked fifth in the world and first in China. The sales revenue of Aeolus and PTG ranked among the top three in China’s domestic industry.

On 11 October, a 59/80R63 radial engineering tyre rolled off the production line at Aeolus’s Jiaozuo manufacturing base. This giant OTR tyre has a diameter of over four metres and a weight of nearly six tons. It is mainly used for giant mining weighing about 400 tons.
Earlier this month, Prometeon Tyre Group (PTG) became the main sponsor of Italian football club Parma Calcio. Its multi-year agreement with the club, which currently plays in the second-tier Serie B league, gives the tyre maker a presence on players’ shirts and within their home stadium. Shirts will display the Prometeon logo rather than the Pirelli branding encountered on PTG tyres.
On 4 August 2022, Aeolus announced it was ready to sign a supplementary agreement with China National Tyre & Rubber Co., Ltd (CNRC). Through that agreement, CNRC has entrusted Aeolus with a 38 per cent stake in Prometeon Tyre Group S.r.l. (PTG).
Commercial and industrial tyre specialist Promoteon became the first customer of Rockwell Automation’s to take on the company’s Plex QMS system during the last three months. The system will be rolled out across Prometeon’s global operations.
The SuperTruck dealer consortium is gearing up to launch in six European markets, including the UK, and Prometeon Tyre Group has appointed Riccardo Schena to lead the network during this time of growth. The company introduced Schena, who has served as Prometeon’s chief financial officer for Europe since September 2020, to dealers at a recent meeting in the Italian town of Gubbio.
On 28 June, China National Tyre & Rubber Co., Ltd (CNRC), a subsidiary of state-owned conglomerate Sinochem Holdings, completed the acquisition of the 38 per cent share in Prometeon Tyre Group (PRG) owned by High Grade (HK) Investment Management Ltd. Once it has concluded “internal decision-making procedures,” CNRC will entrust its stake in PTG to Aeolus Tyre.
Prometeon Tire Group has appointed Luca Frangi as CEO for its Eastern European organisational structure. Frangi has almost 20 years of experience within Pirelli. He will take up his new position in July 2022. Prometeon added that Jarosław Krzempek will leave the company from 8 July 2022 to take advantage of new professional opportunities.

Prometeon UK managing director Peter Fairlie is set to leave the company on 8 July 2022 to “embrace new professional opportunities”. In a statement announcing the news and organisational changes, Prometeon thanked Fairlie for “services rendered over the past three years and wishe[d] him every success in his future endeavours.”
