Leading Italian garage equipment maker, Nexion Group, will not  participate in Autopromotec 2022 because “the conditions are not yet in place to ensure a presence capable of best representing the prestige of its brands, while guaranteeing the safety of its customers and employees”.

Corghi Proadas calibration system added to servicing equipment range

Recognising the proliferation of ADAS within the car parc and the servicing demand it brings, Corghi has expanded its product range, with the release of the Proadas. The new product enables the calibration of safety-critical front sensors such as camera, radar and lidar, and targets businesses ready to enter ADAS servicing with an “easy to use” solution. The Corghi Proadas is available in the UK via distributor Rema Tip Top and is compatible with most equipment produced by the brand’s parent company, the Nexion group.

Rema Tip Top Automotive UK is supporting investment into young apprentices via the donation of new Corghi tyre changer and wheel balancing machinery to Nottingham’s Remit Group. The NTDA Tyre Industry Award winning supplier of tyre repair materials and tyre service equipment has also provided a comprehensive tyre repair consumable, tools and equipment package in aid of the training centre’s Specialist Tyre Apprentice Programme.

Nexion Group extends suspension of work until 5 April

The Nexion Group, best known as the manufacturer of the Corghi brand of garage equipment, has extended the suspension of work in its Italian factories and offices for a second week, up to 5 April. The decision comes in compliance with the Italian government’s 25 March decree, implementing “urgent measures to deal with the epidemiological emergency from COVID-19.”

Corghi garage equipment manufacturer Nexion Group confirms Covid-19 shutdown

The Nexion Group has suspended all activities at its Italian factories and offices until Sunday 29 March. The company had managed the situation by minimising risk to its employees while continuing some business functions until now but has taken the decision to enact the closure based on current circumstances. The company, best known for the Corghi brand of garage machinery distributed by Rema Tip Top UK, states that it will use the closure as an opportunity to “check, improve and guarantee” health and safety measures currently in place at its plants.

Private equity firm One Equity Partners (OEP) reports making a “significant minority investment” in Italian workshop machinery and automotive solutions company Nexion S.p.A. Financial terms of the private transaction have not been disclosed.

Nexion acquires Stenhøj Group

Automotive servicing equipment supplier Nexion has acquired a majority shareholding in Denmark’s Stenhøj Group. Nexion acquired 75 per cent of Stenhøj Group, with a 25 per cent share in the company remaining in the hands of the previous owner, the Dyoe family. The deal, completed on 8 March, sees Nexion, already a global leader in the automotive equipment sector with the Corghi, Bright, HPA-Faip, Mondolfo Ferro, SICE, Orlandini, Tecnomotor, and Teco brands, extend its portfolio to the Danish Group’s products and services in the automotive aftermarket range, which include Dunlop, Autop, Sherpa, Molnar, Bradbury, Tecalemit, Gemco, and its eponymous Stenhøj brand. This list illustrates the current period of consolidation in the garage equipment sector; the acquisition comes two years after the formation of the Corwei joint venture with Bright, an important Chinese competitor.

Rema Tip Top introduces new Corghi Artiglio 5000 ‘Leva la leva’ tyre changer

Rema Tip Top has launched Corghi’s latest Artiglio 5000 automatic tyre changing machine. The Artiglio 5000 has third generation “Leva la leva” (lever-less) technology for vehicle, SUV and commercial vehicles wheels up to 28”. The new demounting tool with Lite Smart Corghi System movement reduces the stress on the tyre and never touches the rim.

Rema Tip Top UK’s four consecutive NTDA/Tyre Industry Awards give the company a decent claim to being the country’s leading supplier of aftermarket tyre equipment. The Leeds based company is the UK distributor of Corghi equipment. The Italian brand’s recently introduced Exact Linear has been added to Rema Tip Top’s product range, extending the existing aligner running Exact software, the Blacktech.

In its capital equipment portfolio, the company supplies Corghi garage equipment, including the brand’s latest Touchless line of wheel service equipment for all ranges of tyre changers, wheel balancers and wheel aligners, demonstrating such added value partnerships. Nexion Group and Bright Technology form joint venture

During May’s Autopromotec, leading Italian garage machinery firm Nexion Group and Chinese garage equipment-maker Bright Technology announced that they have formed a joint venture.

According to the two companies, the two firms have formed a third company that will allow Bright and the Nexion Group to “assert itself as a leader in the industry and be active on all global markets with a full range in all product segments from the top of the range to the entry level”.
