Truck tyres
It has often been said that commercial vehicles keep the country moving, and that’s true. But what about the tyres that keep those vehicles connected with the road. They have to carry heavy loads, be able to deal with a variety of weather conditions – all while offering optimal fuel consumption. Increasingly, fleets also require their tyres to be as sustainable as possible. In the world of truck tyres that means first life performance, top-quality tyre husbandry and an integrated multi-life strategy in the form of retreads. In September’s magazine, Tyres & Accessories considers the latest developments in all these areas.

Electric vehicle & eco tyres
The rise in new electric vehicle (EV) registrations has prompted tyre manufacturers to reconsider their strategies for the expanding aftermarket sector. EV tyre development is advancing to meet the requirements of heavier, high-torque vehicles. Similar to drivers of traditional cars, EV drivers desire fuel-efficient, low-noise tyres with enhanced safety features. One approach is to incorporate key EV sizes into mainstream tyre lines; however, some manufacturers are providing specialised solutions. For a more comprehensive analysis of this market, refer to Tyres & Accessories in September.
