Delticom AG teamed up with Netherlands-based TechnoMarketing to exclusively present the Mobile Mech concept and its compact, ‘all-in-one’ Ecube tyre service unit. Delticom believes the Ecube is a “completely game-changing” advancement which provides businesses with more versatile solution to the roadside tyre sales.
Conceived for oversized car and van wheels, SM1100 is a new generation universal leverless tyre changer with central locking system for rims from 12 to 30-inches in diameter, available in both manual or pneumatic versions.
Equipment supplier, The Tyre Equipment Company (TEC), added American manufacturer Ken-Tool’s products to its range and began supplying these throughout the UK and Ireland on the 1st January 2017.
The 2015 financial year delivered Italian workshop equipment manufacturer Butler the best turnover in the company’s history. The 1988-established firm achieved sales revenues of 32 million euros last year, more than a fifth the entire turnover of the Samiro Group, to which Butler has belonged for the past decade or so. The other Samiro Group companies may also be familiar to those in the tyre and automotive industries; these are Ravaglioli, Space and Sirio. The first of these is the largest Samiro business, accounting for 75 to 80 million of the group’s total turnover of 142 million euros.

The Automechanika Innovation Awards 2016 have been announced – and tyre manufacturer Continental and tyre equipment manufacturer Corghi are amongst the winners. On 23 August 2016, the independent jury of nine experts reached agreement on eight award winners whose innovative solutions and future-oriented products will be presented for the first time in an interactive special show in the ‘Festhalle’ during the coming Automechanika Frankfurt on 13 September 2016.
The Reifen 2016 Innovation Awards winners have been announced as part of the trade fair’s opening celebrations. International garage equipment manufacturer Bright will launch its latest premium tyre changer at Reifen 2016, where the company will make a comprehensive exhibition of its range. This latest product boasts an exclusive addition; the tyre changer comes as standard with the well-established and acclaimed six litre Bead Bazooka system from Gaither Tool.
Pro-Align has expanded its range of Hunter garage equipment for commercial vehicle tyres, launching a heavy-duty tyre changer. The new changer follows the Hunter commercial vehicle aligner, which Pro-Align added to its range in 2015, announcing its entrance into the commercial sector. The supplier will present its products at The CV Show for the second consecutive year. The tyre changer has been designed to make the tyre changing process more efficient, and safer and easier for technicians carrying out the work.
Chicago Pneumatic has added new wheel dollies and rugged workshop presses to its line of workshop equipment for the professional automotive and heavy fleet maintenance industries. The two new wheel dollies for heavy vehicle tyre changing and maintenance have lifting capacities of up to 1543 lbs (700kg) and 1.2 tons and are a robust assembly aid for trucks, buses and tractors.
A Monmouth tyre dealer has spoken of the benefits offered by the Hunter Revolution tyre changer’s almost fully automated procedures. Pro-Align, Hunter’s distributor, demonstrated the machine to Tyres & Accessories when it first arrived in the UK, and now the changer is proving its value in the real world at garages like Paul Jarrold Tyres. Technician Matt Robert-Buxton said: “As an operator it removes all worry of damage to tyres, rims and TPMS, resulting in stress-free tyre changing.” The retailer has been running two Revolution changers since June 2015.
Bosch shares that it has enhanced its tyre equipment range to provide technicians with a safe, versatile and time-saving operation, with models that suit every type of workshop. The company’s ‘G-Frame’ concept technology is now at the heart of the Bosch tyre changer range.
New updates to the Revolution, Hunter’s fully automatic tyre changer, have reduced the unit’s footprint by 25 per cent and enhanced ease-of-use.
Tyre Industry Awards 2015 winner Rema Tip Top has opened its new tyre repair and garage equipment training centre following significant investment in Leeds headquarters. Hosting Tyres & Accessories at a launch event in October, immediately after its NTDA 2015 Tyre Industry Award for Tyre and Aftermarket Supplier of the Year, the company showed how the site has been entirely refitted, having lain derelict for around half a decade before the acquisition of Doncaster’s Ace Conveyor Equipment in 2008 and subsequent consolidation of the industrial business. The new centre will provide accreditation for the new generation of tyre technicians, with an expanding variety of courses delivered over one or two days. Rema Tip Top chief executive Mark Insley stated: “We recognise the importance of education and training to an industry which is responsible for the safety of millions of people on our roads on a daily basis. With this well-equipped and highly professional facility we will provide an invaluable resource for our customers.”
Bright Technology says the number of sales and distribution partners it has throughout Europe is on the rise. A representative for the Chinese tyre changer and wheel balancer manufacturer, reports that the company is “currently in advanced negotiations with potential distributors in Germany, Italy and the UK.” Bright Technology is also supporting its presence within the region by taking part in trade shows such as Autopromotec.
