Truck manufacturer DAF has awarded Goodyear its Master rating for a third consecutive year. Goodyear says its retention of this top rating “underpins its commitment to close collaboration with OEMs.” It also considers maintaining this “prestigious status” for three years in a row to be evidence of the company’s ability to “deliver exceptional value to its customers.”
Michelin North America is the proud recipient of a Caterpillar Supplier Excellence Award 2023. The tyre maker was one of five companies honoured in the Construction Industries category, and Michelin comments that the award demonstrates its “excellence in meeting customer commitments.”
This year’s Pirelli Supplier Day took place today at the tyre maker’s headquarters in Milan, with the company welcoming companies from 18 countries. The more than 70 strategic suppliers attending the event represent around 40% of Pirelli’s annual global purchases, and Chief Procurement Officer Andrea Maganzani honoured five stand-out firms.
Airbus has bestowed a supplier award upon Bridgestone Corporation in recognition of the tyre maker’s “efforts to realise a sustainable society.” Bridgestone received this award, given in the sustainability category, during last month’s Airbus Global Supplier Conference in Toulouse, France.
Pirelli has awarded its Pirelli Supplier Award 2022 to nine of its more than 1,500 suppliers around the world. Honouring the recipients, the tyre maker states that each of the nine have “distinguished themselves in making Pirelli’s supply chain even more sustainable, innovative and qualitatively excellent.” Pirelli presented the awards during a ceremony at its headquarters in Milan.
Truck manufacturer DAF recently recognised Goodyear as a ‘Master’ in its 2021 Supplier Performance Management Program. This is the first time that Goodyear has reached this level, and the tyre maker attributes the achievement to the ”work and dedication of its teams who constantly seek to improve the total customer experience year over year.” It particularly praises its teammates for maintaining Goodyear’s “high standards of operational excellence” despite a disruptive macro environment.
At a ceremony held in Phoenix, Arizona this month, General Motors (GM) honoured 134 suppliers based in 16 countries. The vehicle manufacturer’s 2021 Supplier of the Year awardees included five tyre makers – Bridgestone Corporation, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Hankook Tire & Technology, Maxxis Tires and Michelin North America.
KTM has awarded Goodyear EMEA, owner of the Dunlop brand across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, a Grade A supplier rating in its latest evaluation audit. The Austrian performance motorcycle manufacturer will present its Supplier Quality Excellence Award in recognition of the tyre company’s work across product design and development, manufacturing, supply chain, administration and sales functions.
Every year, Pirelli awards just nine of the more than 14,000 suppliers throughout its global chain for distinguishing themselves in making the tyre maker’s supply chain even more sustainable, innovative and of the highest possible quality. Announcing the recipients of its 2021 Supplier Awards, Pirelli says the main selection criterion was care for the environment through an increasingly sustainable supply chain – with lower CO2 emissions, high quality, innovation, speed and global presence.
Following an evaluation process based upon five criteria, Michelin has acknowledged nine of its best suppliers at the fifth edition of its Supplier Awards. The firms were evaluated for Sustainability, Innovation, Quality, Risk Management and Support provided during the crisis.
Off-highway tyre specialist BKT has been approved for Caterpillar SQEP (Supplier Quality Excellence Process) recertification and elevated from Gold to Platinum level for the year 2021.
Hankook Tire describes its receipt of a General Motors Supplier of the Year award as an honour. The company is one of 122 suppliers around the world, including five tyre makers, acknowledged for exceptional performance in the 2020 calendar year.
Stellantis, the company created through the merger of Peugeot and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in January, has honoured Nexen Tire at its inaugural Supplier Awards. It awarded the tyre maker for Competitiveness, one of eight categories in this year’s event; Nexen was one of two firms recognised for “outstanding performance in terms of cost savings (commercial, process, technical solutions and logistics) and their proposals for a cost reduction portfolio in line with Stellantis’ objectives.”
Hankook Tire has been named a GM Supplier of the Year at a virtual ceremony honoring for General Motors’ 28th annual Supplier of the Year awards. GM recognised 116 of its best suppliers from 15 countries. It said these suppliers have “consistently exceeded GM’s expectations, created outstanding value or introduced innovations to the company.” The ceremony, recognising supplier contributions in the calendar year, was delayed in March by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
