Singaporean tyre producer Omni United has marked a decade of supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation via its flagship brand Radar Tyres. Since 2011 the company has donated nearly US$1.4 million to fund 28,000 hours of lifesaving research.
Singapore-based tyre designer and distributor Omni United has enacted a Covid-19 Assistance initiative, which includes sending over 20,000 protective masks to its business partners in Europe for them to use and/or distribute in their local communities. The team at Omni United is also researching and compiling a database of all governmental financial and fiscal help that is available and some guidance on how to access it as many small business owners may find it difficult to find the information and the practical ways to avail these benefits.
A sign that Omni United intends to increase its activities in Europe may be seen in the appointment of Peter Nicholls as the company’s Vice-President of Sales (Europe). He began in the role this month, coming to the Singapore-headquartered firm from SD International, where he served as sales and marketing director for more than 12 years.
Omni United has launched the Dimax Classic under its expanding Radar Tyres flagship brand. The Dimax Classic is a sport touring tyre specially developed for classic and vintage cars. The tyre is currently available in four sizes and six SKUs with rim diameters ranging from 12” to 15” sizes, designed for many popular classic and vintage vehicles.
Omni United has received the Enterprise 50 Award for the fifth consecutive year at the Enterprise 50 awards ceremony that was held in Singapore. In winning the award, the company was ranked among the top 50 Singapore-based, privately-held companies.
Phillip D. Caris recently took over as executive director of Omni United’s US businesses. The Singapore-headquartered tyre designer, manufacturer and distributor shares that Caris holds responsibility for the overall operations of Omni United in the USA, adding that “this senior appointment reinforces Omni United’s commitment to continue its growth strategy in the US.”
Omni United has been ranked among the top 10 companies in Singapore for its contributions to economic development in the country and abroad. The company said it achieved a 10th-place ranking at the 2016 Enterprise 50 awards, which are organized by The Business Times and KPMG with the help of the government of Singapore.
Omni United is expanding its Renegade R7 M/T range. An additional nine sizes have been added to the existing range, taking the total to 23 outline white letter sizes. This range is designed to fit most SUVs and light trucks and is suitable for vehicles with lift-kits.
Omni United has purchased Texas-based A to Z Tire & Battery, Inc – Omni’s second US-based distribution acquisition. Now the focus is on consolidating the distribution businesses (A to Z Tire and the previously acquired Interstate Tire Distributor) into a single unit under a new brand identity. No further details of what brand and when this will take place have been released.
Omni United has appointed Brett Martin as the president of its distribution division, US-based subsidiary Omni United USA Inc. This makes Brett Martin responsible for Omni United’s distribution business in the USA.
Brett Martin comes with over 36 years of experience including 23 years of handling various roles in the distribution sector. His last position was senior vice president of Distribution, TCI, where he had oversight of 85 distribution centres in the US. He has been associated with TCI, a subsidiary of Michelin North America for many years, and has previously held numerous positions including regional director west coast and distribution centre manager. Martin also has experience in tyre retail.
Omni United has signed LPGA golfer Jodi Ewart Shadoff as brand ambassador for Radar Tires, Omni’s flagship brand. Shadoff is described as an “up and coming” player in the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) ranking of women golfers worldwide. A professional golf player since 2010, she qualified for the LPGA Tour in 2011. Shadoff tied for 4th in the 2013 US Women’s Open and for 7th in the prestigious 2013 Kraft Nabisco Championship.
Omni United won the prestigious 2015 Enterprise 50 Award for the third consecutive year. This prestigious honour is given to the top 50 Singapore-based companies for their outstanding business management, innovation, market presence and contribution to the economic development in Singapore and abroad. In 2014 Omni United was ranked 13th in the Enterprise 50 Awards and this year the ranking has improved to 11th position.
Omni United Pte. Ltd. has acquired Interstate Tire Distributor (ITD), a US tyre wholesaler based in California, USA. Further details of the transaction have not been disclosed. According to Omni United, the acquisition of ITD “substantially accelerates the global growth strategy” of the company.

Singapore-based Omni United, owner of the Radar tyre brand, has entered into a collaborative agreement with lifestyle brand Timberland. The two companies are producing a range of tyres under the Timberland name, and the ultimate aim is for the rubber used in the tyres to make its way into Timberland footwear; Omni says the compound used in the tyres is suited to this purpose, and the end of life Timberland tyres will be returned through a network of recyclers led by Liberty Tire Recycling. The arrangement and the new brand were announced at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas on 4 November.
Singapore-based Omni United has appointed Tyre & Tube Australia (TTA) as the official Australian market distributor of its Radar Tires brand. The company says TTA began distributing Radar tyres to its network of around 150 tyre dealers on 1 October 2013.
