Goodyear’s McClellan joins NAM board

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has appointed Steve McClellan of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company to its Board of Directors. Goodyear says McClellan is joining the board to bolster US-based association’s “leadership in policy advocacy, workforce solutions, legal action, operational excellence and news and insights.”

US association welcomes Nokian Tyres as country’s newest tyre maker

The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) shares that Nokian Tyres has signed up as its 13th member. The company, which opened its factory in Dayton, Tennessee in October 2019 and is currently preparing to start commercial production, joins an association that represents more than four-fifths of the national tyre manufacturing industry.

Ryan Waldon has taken over leadership of Goodyear Tire & Rubber’s global aviation and off-the-road (OTR) segments. As vice president, Global Off-Highway Business, Waldron reports directly to Steve McClellan, president of Goodyear Americas.

Goodyear’s McClellan to chair USTMA board

Career Tracks

Stephen R. McClellan is the new chairman of the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association’s (USTMA) Board of Directors. The president of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s Americas business unit began in this role on 3 October and will serve a two-year term. McClellan succeeds Jim Hawk, chairman, Toyo Holdings of America, Inc., who served as chairman of the USTMA Board since 2016.

Goodyear, Bridgestone combining aftermarket tyre distribution in the USA

The wholesale tyre distribution networks owned by Goodyear and Bridgestone in the USA are combining to form an operation the two protagonists claim will be “one of the largest tyre distribution joint ventures in the United States.” This 50-50 joint venture, announced yesterday, echoes the arrangement that Michelin and Sumitomo Corporation entered into at the start of the year.

Goodyear sponsors Pro Football Hall of Fame: video

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has announced its sponsorship of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The company has a long association with American Football, including the Goodyear Blimp’s aerial television coverage, which has run for more than 60 years. The Hall of Fame is located, like Goodyear’s headquarters, in Ohio, where the National Football League was founded. Hundreds of thousands of fans around the world visit the campus in Canton, where a $500 million Hall of Fame village is currently under development.

Goodyear to merge North, Latin America businesses

The announcement that the current president of Goodyear’s Latin America business, Jean-Claude Kihn, will soon become president of its EMEA region coincides with the news that Goodyear Tire & Rubber will merge its North America and Latin America businesses into one Americas business unit, effective 1 January 2016. The combined business will be known as the Americas business unit and be led by Stephen R. McClellan, currently president of Goodyear’s North America business. Marcelo Toscani, now vice-president of global manufacturing, will serve as president of the company’s Latin America operations and report to McClellan.

New communication VP for Goodyear’s North American business

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named Kristina Schnepf vice-president of communication for its North America business unit. Schnepf, 45, joins Goodyear from The Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan where she spent 22 years in positions of increasing responsibility in branding, marketing communications, media relations, internal communications, crisis management and community relations.
