Following the extension of an agreement that stretches back seven decades, Avon Tyres has announced that it will continue as official sponsor of the Castle Combe Circuit through 2021.
Avon Tyres will celebrate its famous victory at the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans with Aston Martin during this year’s Autumn Classic at Castle Combe on 5 October. Established in 2012, the Autumn Classic has developed into a popular event on the classic racing calendar, providing grids full of spectacular cars from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
Melksham Motor Spares, one of the South West Region’s largest independent motor factors, will continue its sponsorship of the Formula Ford Championship at Castle Combe Circuit for a second year.
TCR UK will make its debut at Castle Combe circuit in Wiltshire on 14-15 July as it enters rounds seven and eight. The race weekend marks the halfway point in the first ever Yokohama-backed series.
Castle Combe Circuit can be considered Avon Tyres’ local race track, being located just 11 miles away from the company’s headquarters in Melksham. An Avon presence at the circuit is therefore something you’d expect, and in future this will be even more pronounced. Avon Tyres says it is increasing its association with Castle Combe; in practice, this means there more visible branding, banners and flags, and the fitment of Avon tyres to all suitable track support vehicles. And as of this month, Avon branding will also feature on a second footbridge across the circuit between Quarry and the Esses.
Avon Tyres has revamped its “landmark” Avon bridge at Castle Combe Circuit in Wiltshire. The brand is marking more than 60 years of its sponsorship deal with the circuit, which is only 11 miles from Avon’s base in Melksham; in fact, a recent renewal of its sponsorship will take the brand through to 75 years of association with one of the fastest tracks in the country.
Pirelli UK will provide its rally simulator to the Richard Burns Foundation at the Rallyday event in Castle Combe on 20 September. All proceeds from the simulator experience will go to the Richard Burns Foundation: a charity set up in the name of the 2001 World Rally Champion, who won his title on Pirelli tyres.
