Wegmann automotive, the company behind the Hofmann Power Weight and Perfect Equipment wheel balancing weight and the Hofmann Power Solutions battery bushings brands, has acquired the valve business of Alligator Ventilfabrik. Under the terms of the agreement reached between the two firms, Wegmann automotive will take ownership of Alligator sales and distribution operations for passenger car and heavy-duty truck tyre valves as well as for TPMS sensors and tools in both Europe and North America.
Alligator Ventilfabrik has introduced a new version of the patented CVVEasy tyre valve, the CVVEasy TR 412 for trailers. This addition to the range meets the demand for increased tyre pressures of more than 4.5 bar and offers an alternative to screw-type valves, which are difficult to install in the required length. In combination with the new DS-P valve cap (more on this below), the total length of the CVVEasy TR 412 is 47 millimetres.
For the first time, Hamaton Limited was present at Essen with a108 square metre booth. Hamaton Limited is the European headquarter of Hamaton Automotive Technology Co. Limited and was only founded in 2015. The company is both a European TPMS technical centre, and a sales and distribution platform for the wide range of Hamaton manufactured products in Europe.
Hofmann Power Weight has added TPMS starter kits and valves to its product portfolio; both products are made to original equipment quality levels and provide wide coverage for their respective target markets, the company states.
Schrader International has appointed Aaron Nelson as its new regional sales manager in Western Canada. Nelson brings nearly a decade of experience working with automotive and diesel performance products. Based in Edmonton, Nelson’s responsibilities include assisting Schrader customers with their TPMS programs and driving sales growth throughout Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Wegmann Automotive – the world market leader for wheel balancing weights – took the opportunity presented by Autopromotec to launch its Perfect Equipment brand into the European markets. Perfect Equipment brings with it over 75 years of experience and known in the North American market as the largest US brand manufacturer of wheel weights.
Milltek has released a new exhaust for the B8 RS4. Milltek’s engineers report that they were keen to maintain the all-round character and usability of the RS4, whilst injecting a little more drama – and power – into proceedings. Two systems will be made available upon launch; a primary cat back, with full EC homologation and approval for those looking to keep things ‘OEM+’ and a wonderfully toned non-resonated system that offers a perfectly pitched rasp and growl, but without the in-cabin resonance and droning of lesser systems.
CES has published a new product guide to showcase its engine management components. The company says distributers need to stock a wider range of engine management parts as vehicle technology advances. CES says it has rapidly increased its range in recent years, stocking a wide range of sensors, turbos, fuel systems and diesel and petrol injectors.
Tyresure has launched a dedicated system created specifically for the leisure and towing market. EU legislation has dictated that all passenger cars must have TPMS fitted from the factory as a legal requirement from 2012. Although this hasn’t yet been rolled out as a mandatory fitment in the leisure market and doesn’t apply to vehicles produced before this model year many industry experts feel that it is only a matter of time before safety-conscious manufacturers start including this in the options list, at least.
Following the demonstration its new tyre pressure monitoring system at the Vienna-based ‘e-Safety Challenge 2011’ event on May 31, Bridgestone Europe has announced plans to roll out its commercial vehicle system across Europe during the course of this year. The system is being rolled out as a tool within Bridgestone’s Total Fleet Management package.
On 30 January 2011 HawksHead TPMS launched a new Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) designed “for the serious RVer.” According to the company, the system can monitor tyre pressures and temperatures for motor homes and trucks along with their towed vehicle if needed, the system is also ideal for travel trailers, fifth wheels, enclosed and flatbed trailers. RV are Recreational Vehicle much like large versions of the camper vans commonly found at European camp sites.
Sonil Ventilfabrik recently hosted the 27th Meeting of the Indian Tyre Technical Advisory Committees (ITTAC) Tube & Valve Sub-Committee. The event was held at the Sugati Beach Resort between 1 and 2 July.
