Snap-on launches entry level diagnostic tool

Date: 26th July 2013 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

In June Snap-on launched the Ethos Plus, a new entry level diagnostic tool. According to the company the Ethos Plus is a “compact, fast, accurate and versatile tool for solving today's diagnostic problems, designed for either the first time user – or for the experienced technician looking to add to their diagnostic toolbox”. The tool offers broad coverage of 30 manufacturers and functions including engine transmission, ABS, airbag, TPMS, hybrid power, body and climate control.

Improved features of the new Ethos Plus include completely keyless operation, meaning that only a single adapter is required. The large full-colour touchscreen display – 14 cm in diameter – starts up in less than 10 seconds, offering user friendly navigation.

Ethos Plus can be updated via Scanbay, Snap-on’s system for software downloads which can be done from any Snap-on franchisee van.

“We are delighted to welcome Ethos Plus to our best selling ‘family’ of diagnostic tools” says Aldo Rodi, managing director of Snap-on Tools. “We believe that Ethos Plus is the perfect new entry level diagnostic tool for today’s busy technician. This is the fastest-moving and most complex area of the automotive Aftermarket and we want to ensure that all our customers not only have access to the world’s most sophisticated award winning hand-held diagnostics, but also to realise how quick and easy they are to use and to update.”
