Snap-On releases 12.2 version software download

Date: 20th April 2012 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Snap-on has announced the release of the new 12.2 software download for its best selling ‘family’ of hand-held diagnostic tools and now including coverage of the Kia and Suzuki models.

“Continued and committed software development ensures that Snap-on customers’ diagnostic tools remain consistently powerful and productive in the workplace,” says Mark Ost, UK sales director for Snap-on Diagnostics. “Our new 12.2 software download has built yet again on the previous software releases to provide profitable features to help the workshop technician deal with the sophisticated technology used on today’s modern vehicles.

“Our 12.2 software now covers 96 per cent of the UK vehicle parc. 28 of the major vehicle manufacturer specific titles are included in our software, with over 1,600 vehicles being added. We now have coverage of two completely new manufacturers, Kia and Suzuki.

“The new 12.2 software download has added more than 17,500 PIDs and more than 13,700 new Trouble Shooter codes and descriptions. Over 2,600 new functional actuator and system tests have been added, as well as over 18,000 new vehicle systems, plus the latest technology in the market. An Auto ID function has been added for some manufacturers to make it faster and simpler to identify a vehicle so that the mechanic can get on with diagnosing and fixing the fault.

“Our subscription plan spreads the cost, making it easy and affordable to ensure that you automatically have access to the latest technology whenever a new software update is released.”

The new 12.2 release is available for all models in the Snap-on ‘family’ of hand-held diagnostic tools from the entry level Ethos, the recently introduced Solus Ultra, the Solus Pro, Modis and Verdict.
