Autoparts UK joins NTDA, launches Orium tyre brand

Autoparts UK has joined the National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) as the same time as launching an exclusive range of Orium Tyres. There are six Autoparts branches, five Midwest Motor Factor sites and Monmore Auto Parts joining NTDA membership meaning that group factor manager, Craig McCracken, will also join the NTDA Executive Council.

Autoparts UK becomes official Coyote Fat Tyre Bike distributor

Autoparts UK has extended its bicycle activities by becoming the official distributor for Coyote Fat Tyre Bikes. The motor factor says that initial sales already ahead of expectations; it is positioned to capitalise on the recently documented increase in cycling’s popularity in the UK.

Autoparts UK brought some romance to its customers recently with a successful Valentine’s Day promotion. Garages had to spend £99 on any Autoparts product to receive a bottle of ‘bubbly’ and box of chocolates.

National Autoparts wins Autoparts UK Supplier of the Year 2014

National Autoparts has been presented with Autoparts UK’s supplier of the year 2014 award. Voted by Autoparts team members, including branch staff, National Autoparts won a close contest with runner-up Exol Lubricants. The award marks the culmination of a very successful 2014 for Autoparts, who itself recently won the IAAF distributor of excellence award.

‘Record numbers’ sign up to IAAF conference

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has unveiled its speaker line-up for its 2014 Annual Conference and hailed ‘record numbers’, with 100 aftermarket personnel already expected to attend.

The conference ‘Change, challenge opportunity – gearing up for the future’ sponsored by Autoparts UK will address the major issues from both UK and Europe, highlight the key changes from both a technical and a market perspective and, consider what opportunities there are for the future.

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has announced that Autoparts group factor manager Craig McCracken has joined the IAAF Council. The IAAF Council is a voluntary group of senior aftermarket executives that come together regularly to debate industry issues and set IAAF policy.

Ultratec poster aids oil selection

Autoparts UK has produced a new Ultratec oil selection poster to assist garages and motorists with selecting the correct oil for a specific vehicle.

The use of incorrect engine oil can lead to problems and result in expensive repairs. Also, car manufacturers have clearly defined oil drain intervals for oils which meet their specifications and the use of a lower quality lubricant in, for example, a long oil drain schedule can result in reduced engine component life and poor fuel economy.

TMD Friction scoops Autoparts supplier of the year award

Autoparts UK has named TMD Friction as its supplier of the year 2013. The news was announced at Autoparts’ Burns Night celebrations, which also included fellow customers and suppliers in an event comprising Haggis ‘n’ Neeps, Robbie Burns poems and some professional boxing at the St. Andrews Boxing Club. Branch managers and staff from Autoparts’ 13-strong branch network were asked to vote for their supplier of the year against a criteria of parts availability, technical assistance, sales support and customer service.
