How artificial intelligence enhances tyre inspection

UVeye is a provider of artificial intelligence (AI) based solutions for automatic external inspection of vehicles within the security industry. Initially developing systems to detect dangerous conditions like weapons, explosives, or other threats in some of the world’s most high-security locations, the company saw the opportunity to use its technology to solve challenges in the automotive industry to detect potentially hazardous mechanical issues. Its suite of products includes its original undercarriage application (Helios), its revolutionary 360 solution (Atlas), and its targeted tyre application (Artemis). The company explains why it believes AI technology will help shape the future standard for vehicle inspection, increasing the speed, efficiency and accuracy of tyre checks at every stage of a vehicle’s lifecycle.

Automechanika Birmingham 2018 provides broad platform for parts, aftermarket, garage sectors

The UK’s leading exhibition for the automotive aftermarket and vehicle production industry, Automechanika Birmingham, welcomed 10,200 industry personnel to its 2018 event. Featuring 500 exhibitors from 26 countries in 9,400sqm of floor space, the organiser stated that more than 120 companies exhibited for the first time, including: AA Garage Guide, Snap-On, Ceramex, GSF Car Parts and Wurth Electronics. Tyres & Accessories joined the National Tyre Distributors Association in representing the UK tyre industry at what was a lively event for the automotive sector, with an emphasis on visitor interaction – a fact underlined by the three in-hall dedicated presentation spaces, in which speakers addressed major issues currently affecting the sector.

Official opening for Linglong’s 1st Atlas tyre centre in China

The establishment of Atlas as Shandong Linglong Tire’s flagship tyre brand in China has been further reinforced by the opening of the first Atlas-branded retail outlet within the country. The centre in Guangzhou aims to meet the “highest industry standards” in regards to design, equipment, products, service, scale and professionality, comments the tyre maker.

Chinese market launch for Atlas tyre brand

An announcement made by Shandong Linglong Tire at the Auto Shanghai show marks the introduction of a long-established US tyre brand into the Chinese market. At a press conference held on 22 April, company chairman and president Wang Feng welcomed the Atlas brand to China. The launch portfolio consists of seven passenger car and SUV product lines.

Deldo exhibits new Tristar range at meeting-rich Reifen show

It’s no secret that trade exhibitions such as Reifen primarily serve as venues for maintaining business relationships and for meeting new customers or suppliers, and Deldo Autobanden used the show week to its full potential. When Tyres & Accessories dropped by the Antwerp-based wholesaler’s stand it was typically brimming with activity; during a quieter moment, marketing and communication management assistant Jente Vermeiren shared that Reifen had more than met Deldo’s expectations.

High tyre test rating for Atlas no surprise, says Deldo

The tyres securing a podium place in German magazine tyre tests are almost invariably products from the ‘top-ten’ manufacturers. This is so often the case that one publication recently described the performance of rubber from outside this small circle of tyre majors as being “surprisingly good”. The magazine was Auto Bild, and the tyre in question is the Atlas Sport Green.
