Check all batteries, says Yuasa as MOT surge begins

We have all read dire warnings in the press and online about the possible implications of the six-month extension to MOTs and of possible bottlenecks and logjams as everybody leaves it to the last minute to get their vehicles tested. As lockdown measures ease, the demand for routine servicing, repairs and MOTs is already dramatically increasing. Yuasa are encouraging garages to introduce a simple battery check as part of their MOT and service schedules to identify if the vehicle’s battery has been damaged due to reduced usage. At the height of the Coronavirus pandemic, it is estimated that around 70 per cent of the UK’s cars remained immobile.

GS Yuasa Battery Sales UK Ltd are pleased to announce the establishment of a new sales company to serve their Nordic and Baltic export regions. GS Yuasa Battery Nordic began trading from a new distribution centre in Jönköping, Sweden in December 2019. The creation of a new sales company and distribution centre in Sweden represents a significant investment from the battery manufacturer, as it aims to increase market share in the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Reigning BRC champions unveil Yuasa sponsorship and new car on Pirelli stand

Yuasa has announced that the battery brand has become title sponsor of rally driver Matt Edwards and co-driver Darren Garrod, with the unveiling of a new car and livery on the Pirelli stand at Autosport International. The move sees the Yuasa Rally Team name enter the sport for the first time as the title sponsor of M-Sport’s BRC operation. The team will tackle stages across the UK, Ireland and Belgium in the all-new Ford Fiesta R5 MkII carrying Yuasa’s distinctive red, white and black livery, made popular in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).

With battery related faults the most common cause of breakdowns, Servicesure’s ‘Batterysure’ initiative with Yuasa aims to teach garages the three ‘Rs’ of battery health. All garages that sign up to Battery Sure and become an official Battery Testing Station will be able to advise its customers if they can ‘Relax’, as their battery is in a good state of health, if they should ‘Recharge’ a low battery, or if it’s time to ‘Replace’ due to high risk of failure.

Yuasa adds photo search to battery lookup site

The upgraded version of Yuasa Battery Europe’s online battery lookup system launched at this year’s Automechanika show in Frankfurt features a number of innovations, including a photo number plate lookup feature and live technical support across Europe. The lead-acid and lithium-ion battery supplier says the fully-updated site has been designed to help mechanics and technicians save valuable time and money, and reports that the system powering it has been remodelled to make it even more user friendly and fast. The system remains completely free to use and can be accessed online at fit.yuasa.co.uk or by pushing a Yuasa USB Smart Button.

Yuasa Batteries back dragster restoration project
