On 10 October Texa president Bruno Vianello inaugurated the company’s new German branch in Obersulm, north of Stuttgart. Covering more than 3,000 square metres, the new location triples the dimensions of the old premises in Langenbrettach, which had been operational since 2002.
Already a Texa bestseller, the introduction of the latest edition of the Axone Nemo series brings with it added processing power, communication speed and multi-environment software.
This means the same diagnostic hardware can be used across the car, truck, off-highway, bike and marine environments.
Pro-Align’s recent distribution agreement with ADAS diagnostic and calibration tools supplier TEXA shows how garage equipment specialists are adapting to the rapid development of the connected car. Yet the staple equipment remains a vital part of the equation; greater accuracy in the tyre changing and wheel balancing processes can help ensure the full functionality of downstream systems. In addition, Pro-Align tells Tyres & Accessories that balancers and changers are often overlooked in terms of their potential for a workshop’s efficiency and profitability.

Pro-Align will offer TEXA ADAS diagnostic and calibration tools, alongside support in the form of a series of technical seminars, in a move that it states will help workshops overcome one of the biggest challenges in servicing modern cars. In addition to communicating information on the subject, Pro-Align, most renowned for its distribution of Hunter wheel alignment, balancing and tyre fitting equipment, has added TEXA’s range to its product portfolio.
As our environment becomes increasingly technologically driven, it is no surprise to learn that as many as 15 per cent of tyres are being bought online. At the same time tyres are becoming more and more “intelligent” with built-in sensors such as TPMS. However, for a long time the business of checking tyre tread depth has been a relatively imprecise affair. A few years back standards improved with the development of digital tread depth probes, some of which even bluetoothed data to cloud-based systems. However, the latest technology takes routine tread depth checks and fleet audits to the next level.
