CV Show increases attendance at over 16,000

Date: 30th May 2012 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

The organisers of the Commercial Vehicle Show 2012 and Workshop 2012 have announced that, subject to ABC Audit, the attendance figure for this year's Show at over 16,000 has once again topped the figure for the previous year.

“This is great news for the Show’s future development and for the industry in general,” said RHA chief executive Geoff Dunning. “It is extremely encouraging to know that, despite the uncertainty in other areas of British industry, the optimism that exists in the road freight sector remains extremely buoyant. This was initially apparent from the number of exhibitors present – 10 per cent up on 2011 – and to have over 16,000 visitors in three packed days, from not only the UK but also from overseas, undeniably confirms it.”

Analysis of the demographics gathered from ticket applications is as follows:

•    26 per cent MD/Owner/Partner
•    6.9 per cent Other Director
•    33.8 per cent Transport Manager/Other Manager
•    15 per cent Engineer/Technician
•    5.6 per cent Consultant
•    12.7 per cent Other

“From an engineer’s perspective,” said Nick Jones, chief executive of the Society of Operations Engineers, “it was excellent to see so many visitors involved in the technical side of the business. The range of exhibitors at this year’s Show underlines the fact that there really IS something there for everyone.”
