The third-generation Subaru Crosstrek went on sale in Japan in December 2022, and Sumitomo Rubber Industries shares that it is supplying its Falken Ziex ZE001 A/S as an original equipment tyre. The Crosstrek will wear the all-season Falken tyre in size 225/55R18 98V.
The Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. is supplying Geolandar G91 tyres as original equipment (OE) for Subaru Corporation’s new Crosstrek (Japanese-market model), which was unveiled in September 2022. The SUV is being fitted with 225/60R17 99H size tyres. As well as the 225/60R17 Geolandar G91 tyre Yokohama is supplying, the Crosstrek will also be fitted with 225/55R18 tyres.
In the US, for the third year-in-a-row, Yokohama Tire Corporation has been recognized by Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) with a supplier’s award. The third consecutive award earned the tyremaker a spot in in the prestigious Superior Excellent Performance category. Yokohama earned the award for its supply of the Avid S34P (P225/40R18 88V) tyres on the Impreza and Avid GT S35 on the Legacy (P225/55R17 97V and 225/50R18 95V), and on the Outback (225/65R17 102H and 225/60R18 100H).

Sumitomo Rubber reports that it has begun supplying Falken Ziex ZE001 A/S tyres to Subaru for its Crosstrek Hybrid model in the USA. This plug-in SUV model goes on sale in America this winter.
Sumitomo Rubber Industries has begun supplying its Falken Ziex ZE001 A/S to Subaru Corporation as an original equipment tyre for its new Forester, which goes on sale this autumn. The Forester will be available with a factory-fitted size 225/55R18 98H version of the Ziex ZE001 A/S in North American and Chinese markets.
Sumitomo Rubber Industries has announced a new original equipment supply arrangement for the North American market. The tyre maker has begun supplying the Falken Ziex ZE001 A/S to Subaru Corporation for fitment on its new Crosstrek (known as the Subaru XV in other market). A size 225/55R18 98H tyre has been selected for the Crosstrek.
Original equipment deliveries of the Yokohama Advan Sport V105 tyre have begun for the Subaru WRX STI, which was released on June 20 after a major redesign. Yokohama Rubber reports that the WRX STI will come equipped with 245/35R19 89W size tyres in Japan and overseas.
Yokohama Rubber has begun shipping its BluEarth E70 to Subaru Corporation for original equipment fitment on the all-new Subaru XV crossover. The Yokohama tyre is being supplied in size 225/60R17 99H.
Bridgestone Americas has announced that its Firestone FT140 tyre has been selected as original equipment on the all-new 2017 Subaru Impreza.
The fifth-generation Subaru Impreza, which launched in Japan on 25 October, will be fitted with Yokohama tyres as original equipment in a number of markets. Yokohama Rubber shares that it is supplying Fuji Heavy Industries two different tyre lines for fitment on cars sold in Japan, North America and Australia.
Double British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) champion, Colin Turkington, sponsored by TerraClean, scored Subaru’s first ever Dunlop MSA BTCC victory on 5 June at Oulton Park as well as winning the opener at Croft Circuit 18 – 19 June.
While Michael Dunlop was busy making history on Dunlop, the tyre brand also saw new records set on four wheels. Running on medium compound Sport Maxx BTCC race tyres, triple British Rally Champion Mark Higgins beat the previous record for a car around the Isle of Man TT Mountain course.
While Dunlop-shod riders will be bidding to break more records and win races across all two-wheeled classes at this year’s Isle of Man TT, the company’s bid for honours doesn’t end there. Dunlop has teamed up with another of the event partners, Subaru, to tackle the IOMTT Mountain course for a record-breaking attempt on four wheels.
Falken Motorsport has followed up its podium finish at the 2015 Nürburgring 24 Hours with a top 10 and a class victory. The brand’s long-running participation at the event continued at an arduous 2016 Nürburgring 24 Hours, with ninth overall for Falken’s own new Porsche 991 GT3 R, together with a class win and top 20 finish for the SP3T Subaru WRX STI.
