Continental has brought together its range of tyre services for the fleet sector under the banner of Conti360° Solutions. Going forwards, fleet solutions will be offered as an overall package: The Conti360° Solutions contracts comprise both digital solutions such as ContiConnect and ContiPressureCheck, and ContiLifeCycle – including the ContiRe and ContiTread retreading products and casing management.
Continental has merged its passenger and truck tyres replacement businesses in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Philipp von Hirschheydt, former head of the passenger tyres replacement business in the EMEA region, leads the new business unit. This transformation started on 1 January, 2020, becoming effective on 1 July, 2020. Conti states that it has merged the businesses to “increase customer centricity while increasing the overall efficiency of the organisations.” In making this organisational change, Conti has shifted its structure to align with customer groups rather than product categories.
As part of previously-announced structural changes, Continental has merged several of its replacement truck tyre functions in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The Conti360° Fleet Services business, which includes ContiPressureCheck and ContiConnect, has been brought together with the ContiLifeCycle business, comprising retreading and casing management services, to form the Fleet Solutions department. Ralf Benack is heading up this department as Director Fleet Solutions.
Continental has made its versatile Hybrid HD3 commercial vehicle tyre available as a ContiRe hot retread in sizes 295/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5, and 315/80R22.5. The retread has the same rubber compounds as the new tyre in both the tread and the sidewall, and retains the new tyre’s low weight, optimised rolling resistance and high ride comfort.
Continental has announced several changes within the management of its replacement truck tyre business for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. With the appointment of a sales director for truck tyres within the Truck Tires Replacement business, the company has separated the coordination of all sales activities in the EMEA region into new position. Barry Guildford has been appointed to the position.
