Dunlop Sport Maxx Race 2 tyres are available as an ‘N2-rated’ original equipment option on the new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, the range-topping variant of Porsche’s 718 family. Porsche has homologated the N2 version of Dunlop Sport Maxx Race 2 for use on the 718 Cayman GT4 RS as well as the 718 Cayman GT4 in the front axle size 245/35ZR20 and in 295/30ZR20 for the rear axle.
Goodyear tyres have been selected as an original fitment on the upcoming Maserati Grecale. Initially announced in March, the car is the next generation in Maserati’s SUV range. The tyre maker shares that a “sporty profile and performance” were instrumental in Maserati’s selection of the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 SUV as a factory fitment, noting that it designed and engineered the tyre to deliver performance that extracts “the most out of a car’s power and mechanical grip.”
Renault has selected a range of Goodyear tyres as original equipment fitments on the new Mégane E-Tech Electric. Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 is the summer fitment in size 195/60R18, while Renault has opted to equip the larger 215/45R20 specification with EfficientGrip Performance tyres. Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 is also available as an all-season option in both dimensions.
When we first reported Goodyear’s provision of original equipment tyres to Cupra, the arrangement involved a single size of Eagle F1 SuperSport for the Formentor VZ5. The tyre maker’s OE supply arrangement with Cupra has since expanded with the selection of a range of Goodyear summer tyres as original equipment fitments for the Cupra Born, the brand’s first fully electric road car.

Cupra has selected Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport tyres as the original equipment fitment on the most powerful car the Seat high-performance subsidiary has ever made, the Formentor VZ5. It will fit the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport to the Formentor VZ5 in size 255/35R20.
Porsche has approved the Goodyear the Eagle F1 SuperSport R as original equipment for the latest edition of the Porsche 911 GT3. Size 255/35ZR20 tyres will grace the 911 GT3’s front wheels, while the Porsche will wear size 315/30ZR21 at the rear.
The Toyota Yaris has gone the way of the Mini and Fiat 500 and bulked out to meet market demand. Toyota has launched the Yaris Cross, a new and larger version of its popular supermini. It designed this B-segment SUV specifically for the European market and has selected Goodyear as an original equipment tyre supplier. The Toyota Yaris Cross will wear the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 in size 215/50R18 with a load/speed rating of 92V.
Audi is once again turning to Goodyear to equip one of its flagship electric vehicles. Audi e-tron SUVs have been fitted with Goodyear tyres as original equipment since 2019, and now Audi is equipping its new generation gran turismo, the Audi e-tron GT, with 21-inch Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 tyres.
Volkswagen has added Goodyear to its list of approved tyre suppliers for the ID.3. The new electric car will wear Goodyear summer and winter tyres in a range of dimensions: The Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance in sizes 215/55 R18, 215/50 R19 and 215/45 R20, as well as Goodyear UltraGrip Performance and UltraGrip Performance+ winter tyres in sizes 215/55 R18 and 215/50 R19.
Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK has acquired Weeting Tyres, a leading tyre retail company based in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, UK. The company operates four branches as a franchisee in Goodyear’s HiQ autocare network – in Bury St Edmunds, Chelmsford, Ipswich & Kings Lynn – as well as one independent branch in Brandon, Suffolk, which also functions as its head office. The area served by the latter branch is described as having a high value car parc. All sites will become Goodyear’s equity operating under the HiQ brand following the completion of the acquisition.
Dunlop has extended both its official tyre supply and title sponsorship of the MSA British Touring Car Championship, signing an agreement with promoter and rights holder, TOCA to continue the partnership until at least the end of 2021. This contract will extend both the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship title sponsorship, which began in 2005, and the Official tyre supplier partnership, which began in 2003, into a third decade.
Goodyear Dunlop marketing director consumer EMEA Hans Vrijsen has been appointed the new general manager for UK and Ireland of Goodyear Dunlop Tires UK. Vrijsen succeeds Erich Fric, who has been appointed consumer PBU sales & marketing director for Western Europe.
Dunlop will launch the latest iteration of its winter tyre series, the Winter Sport 5, with a full range of sizes available by September 2015. The tyre, which is designed to build on the award-winning success of its latest Winter Sport 4D, is the fifth addition to the line that offers the grip and performance to combat a variety of winter surfaces, including wet, icy and snow-covered roads.
