Giti Tire has extended its support of MotoFest Coventry with an evening circuit programme for the first time. The main GT Radial sprint circuit will host a full track programme on the Saturday night, including a dynamic display of wheel to wheel motorsport from teams involved in the VW Fun Cup UK series.
GT Radial is the new main sprint circuit sponsor at this weekend’s Power Maxed MotoFest Coventry 2019. During the UK’s largest urban motorsports festival weekend, the MotoFest Coventry track, created from the city’s ring road, will be named the GT Radial sprint circuit. As part of the sponsorship agreement, GT Radial will run its VW Fun Cup cars on the sprint circuit on both days of the festival weekend.
A quartet of Midlands based firms gave their backing to MotoFest Coventry 2018 by signing up as sponsors, including a new sprint circuit sponsor. First up on the roll call of Midlands based sponsors for 2018 was Toyo Tires, which has its UK head office in Rushden, unveiled as the new sponsor for the long track sprint circuit. Organisers said after this year’s festival that the MotoFest was the biggest and best ever after record-breaking crowds poured into the city to enjoy the first ever competitive motorsports staged at the event. Visitor numbers are thought to have topped last year’s high of 130,000.
After low-key involvement in 2014, Falken Tyre has confirmed a higher level of participation at this year’s Coventry Motofest – the company will serve as ‘official tyre manufacturer’ at the show, which takes place between 29 and 31 May. Coventry Motofest was inaugurated last year and is a free, family-focused motoring festival that combines live racing, demonstrations, static displays and live music. As previously announced, Falken’s UK drift team will strut its stuff on Coventry’s iconic ring road during the three-day event. The official Coventry Motofest pace car will also wear Falken tyres.
The Coventry MotoFest will make the city the first in the UK to stage competitive motorsport on public roads, and Sumitomo global brand Falken has added its support to the event. The manufacturer’s drift team has become the first to announce that it will perform at MotoFest on 29-31 May 2015.
Coventry is set to become the first city in the UK to stage competitive motorsport on its public roads. Coventry City council has given the green light to racing by using new Government legislation designed to allow cities to host motor sports events.
