Less than three months after extending its VfL Wolfsburg partnership, Linglong Tire has taken a further step with the German football club by becoming its sleeve partner. As of this season, the tyre maker’s logo will appear on players’ left shirt sleeves during Bundesliga and DFB Cup matches.
Linglong Tire has signed an extension to its partnership agreement with VfL Wolfsburg, continuing as its “club of Champions” partner. Li Wei, vice present of Linglong Tire, attended the signing ceremony held by VfL Wolfsburg in Foshan China on 23 May, 2019. He said: “as an old friend of VfL Wolfsburg, Linglong is very glad to continue to cooperate with the club and give full play to the brand effect of both sides.”
As of 1 January, Shandong Linglong Tire has been elevated to the status of Club of Champions partner with German football club VfL Wolfsburg. The tyre maker had served as a VfL-TopPartner since the start of 2015, and Wang Feng, founder and chief executive officer of Linglong Tire, signed the new, extended deal at the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg on 14 December together with club managers Thomas Röttgermann and Dr Tim Schumacher. The company is one of three Club of Champions partners, holding this status alongside Nike and logistics specialist Grupo Sesé.
As of 1 January 2015, Shandong Linglong Tire will become an international partner to German Bundesliga and Europa League football club VfL Wolfsburg. The multi-year deal sees the tyre maker become a sponsorship partner to the Wolfsburg men’s team in markets outside of Germany. The partnership includes a commitment with Wolfsburg United, the international sporting project from VfL Wolfsburg, and will subsequently support respective Unicef projects and the VfL football school.
Apollo Tyres recently signed up as a sponsor to German football club VfL Wolfsburg, and Continental is also back with the team for a second year – the German tyre and automotive component manufacturer’s ATE aftermarket equipment brand will continue as a premium sponsor of the Bundesliga club for the 2014-2015 season. The ATE sponsorship is in keeping with Continental’s sponsorship strategy and involves displaying the brand logo on stadium LED perimeter boards during all VfL Wolfsburg Bundesliga games.
In UK football circles Apollo Tyres is best known for its Manchester United sponsorship, and the tyre maker now aims to replicate its Manchester experience over in Germany. Apollo Vredestein has signed up as partner to Bundesliga team VfL Wolfsburg for the 2014/15 season, and as national partner for the Wolfsburg men’s team and international partner for the women’s team for the 2015/16 season. In a statement announcing the deal, the company said such a sponsorship is in line with Apollo’s strategy and “should make a significant contribution to promoting the Apollo brand internationally.”
