Dunlop Moto2, Moto3 battles set to intensify in Argentina, America and Spain

Dunlop continues its support as tyre supplier for the 2017 FIM Moto2 and Moto3 World Championships on their tour of the Americas, with round two at the Autodromo Termas Rio de Hondo, Argentina on 9 April and the Circuit of the Americas, Texas on 23 April. Two weeks later the Dunlop-shod machines embark on their first race appearance of the year in Europe, at Jerez, Spain on 7 May. The tyre supplier will continue to record overtakes for its 2017 #ForeverForward award.

Moto3’s Kent, Oliveira fight for championship

Johan Zarco was crowned 2015 FIM Moto2 World Champion in Japan, but the Moto3 World Champion will be decided at the final round for the third consecutive year, in Valencia on 8 November. Only in the first year of Moto3 was the title clinched before the season finale when Sandro Cortese took the win with two round in hand. Since then it has been a battle to the last lap of the season.

Dunlop ready for Silverstone Moto2, Moto3

Dunlop is preparing for the 12th race of the year in the Moto2 and Moto3 World Championships on 30 August, as the series move to Silverstone. The eleven races have produced seven different winners in Moto2 and six different winners in Moto3 with seven races remaining. In 2014 both series only had six winners each over the full season showing that the intensity of the competition is getting stronger and with closer racing.

Moto3 graduates achieving Moto2 success on Dunlop tyres

Brno will host the Czech Republic round of the FIM Moto Championship following the USA Grand Prix, and Moto2 and 3 tyre supplier Dunlop is anticipating further success for the newest riders in the more senior series. Alex Rins became the second Moto3 graduate to win a Moto2 race last weekend, while the first, Jonas Folger, won two previous races and will have high hopes for a good result at the Brno circuit where he won his only Moto3 race in 2012. There are now four riders who have appeared on both Moto3 and Moto2 podiums: Rins, Folger, Cortese and Salom.

Dunlop tests 2016 spec Moto2 tyres in Barcelona

Following its latest meeting in Catalunya race, a total of 16 Moto2 riders tested two potential 2016 rear tyres. The test took place at Barcelona and Aragon where the riders evaluated compounds with wider operating windows to enhance the Dunlop Moto2 tyre range.

Dunlop extends Moto2, Moto3 tyre supply deals

The lightweight and intermediate classes of the MotoGP World Championship will continue to run on Dunlop tyres following the renewal of the company’s sole tyre supply agreements for Moto2 and Moto3. Dunlop was appointed sole tyre supplier at the respective launch of both classes in 2010 and 2012.

Dunlop to test Moto2, Moto3 tyres at Mugello

Motorsport

Dunlop and riders from the Moto2 and Moto3 series will begin testing for the 2015 season at Italy’s Mugello track on 3 June. The brand will introduce new front and rear specifications for both series, making the available after the sixth round of the championships at the same circuit on 1 June.
