The partnership between Trelleborg Wheel Systems and Giants Software continues for a fifth year with the two firms teaming up in the new Farming Simulator 19 game. Trelleborg has also decided to field an official team in the 2019/20 Farming Simulator League competition.
A new virtual reality, or VR app from Trelleborg will be launched at the EIMA 2016 exhibition next week. Visitors to the Bologna show will be able to try out the new agricultural tyre app for ioS and Android devices using virtual reality headsets at Trelleborg’s show stand (Hall 14, stand A1).
The Trelleborg Wheel Systems website has been given a brand new look, and Trelleborg says work on the http://www.trelleborg.com/en/wheels site will continue in the coming weeks. Going forward, the website will also be offered in additional languages.
In addition to the Dealer Locator app for smartphones announced today, Trelleborg has launched its Tyre Selector. The online tool is designed to help farming professionals select the right tyres for individual applications, including agriculture, forestry, agro-industrial and light service.
Trelleborg has optimised its Dealer Locator app for iOS and Android smartphones, adding the details of more than 5,000 professional agricultural tyre and machine dealers. Already available on tablets, the Trelleborg Dealer Locator is offered in five languages and identifies the Trelleborg tyre dealer nearest to a selected location. The manufacturer has been expanding its suite of mobile device applications throughout 2014, having identified this area as a valuable service for its customers. It has introduced updated Load Calculator, Tire Efficiency, and Tire Book apps, in addition to innovating its marketing approach through a video game.
Partnerships between tyre manufacturers and game software developers are nothing new in motorsport simulations. However the broad range of tyre applications is being increasingly matched – much to the chagrin of the #GamerGate “campaign” – by the breadth of subjects presented in popular video games. Popular franchise Farming Simulator completes the cross-platform release of its 15th iteration this week, and with a large increase in the range of machinery brands presented in-game, publisher Giants Software has upped the ante considerably. Agricultural tyre manufacturer Trelleborg has been selected as the in-game tyre supplier, a partnership that the manufacturer has pronounced itself “delighted” to “associate [its] brand” with. Trelleborg even announced its intention to use the game as part of its stand at forthcoming agricultural exhibitions.
