The Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. is supplying Geolandar G91 tyres as original equipment (OE) for Subaru Corporation’s new Crosstrek (Japanese-market model), which was unveiled in September 2022. The SUV is being fitted with 225/60R17 99H size tyres. As well as the 225/60R17 Geolandar G91 tyre Yokohama is supplying, the Crosstrek will also be fitted with 225/55R18 tyres.
The Yokohama Geolandar X-MT, a chunky-treaded tyre already seeing action on SUVs and pick-ups in North America, is poised for release in Europe. Starting spring 2019, the Geolandar X-MT will be available here in six sizes.
Announced to mark the 20th anniversary of the manufacturer’s 4×4 tyre brand in 2016, the new Yokohama all-terrain Geolandar A/T G015 has made its first appearance in the UK. Available in sizes ranging from 15–20 inches, the G015 was developed for the latest generation of SUVs, featuring the three peak snowflake mark. Yokohama says it is the flagship tyre in its Geolandar range due a number of technical innovations, which deliver better wear performance, better traction and improved ride comfort.
Yokohama is expanding its range of 4×4 and SUV tyres with the addition of the brand new Geolandar A/T G015. Yokohama has been increasing its presence in the segment with new original equipment deals to go alongside its less aggressive Advan Sport V105 SUV tyre range, fitted by premium brands such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, and the Geolandar SUV G055, chosen by Chrysler for the latest edition of the Jeep Cherokee.
Yokohama Rubber says it will enter an SUV in the 2014 Tecate Score Baja 1000 off-road race that will take place in Mexico’s Baja California state between 12 and 16 November. The tyre maker will also support one of the top US off-road teams participating in the race.
The Lexus Group has selected Yokohama tyres as original equipment for its new crossover SUV, the Lexus NX. Exact fitments will vary according to region, however worldwide the tyre maker is supplying two models of tyre in a total of three sizes. The Yokohama tyres selected for the Lexus NX are the BluEarth E51 in size 225/60R18 100H and the Geolandar G91 in sizes 225/60R18 100H and 225/65R17 102H.
Later this month Yokohama Rubber will showcase its latest technologies and products at the Reifen 2014 exhibition on a stand (Hall 3, booth 3A18) featuring both market-ready and concept products.
