Michelin Training Centre, MWheels collaborating to improve CV wheel safety education

MWheels’ technical experts and Michelin Training Centre are working together to further improve overall knowledge of commercial vehicle wheel safety throughout the industry. Based predominantly around hands-on workshop participation alongside traditional seminar lessons, the companies aim to provide in-depth knowledge of the wheel itself, fitting and general maintenance, wheel security, and an understanding of affiliated parts such as axles, nuts and threads.

‘Class of 2016’ graduates from Michelin Tyre Academy

Delegates from the Michelin Tyre Academy ‘Class of 2016’ flew to the company’s Clermont-Ferrand headquarters for the third and final module of the training course, and were rewarded for their dedication with a 4×4 driving experience on a mountain-top track.

Six students from the Academy’s initial 2016 intake were selected for the module by their respective Michelin Auto Professional advocate programme tyre dealerships, which are also all part of the Michelin Certified Centre (MCC) network.

Andrew Page offers MOT Testers “Auto Education”

Andrew Page has introduced a range of annual training and assessment solutions for MOT testers and quality controllers in partnership with IMI.

Through its Auto Education programme, Andrew Page has introduced seven courses to meet new Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) requirements, with courses suitable for existing and new MOT testers. Andrew Page’s offering ranges from online courses, training plans and annual CPD for existing testers; to one, two and three day courses for new MOT testers and MOT managers.

Launch for next step in Goodyear’s young driver education programme

Goodyear has produced a free young driver education toolkit for teachers to use across the UK. Primarily aimed at KS3 and 4 for use during PHSE lessons, ‘The Driving Academy’ toolkit focuses on teaching students about driving, driving theory and the importance, seriousness and responsibilities that go with it. The pack is supported and endorsed by the Driving Instructors Association (DIA) and includes an interactive video, lesson plans and work sheets, online driving simulator and competition opportunity. It is designed to be flexible and scalable to be delivered at different levels according to a school’s needs.
