IAAF virtual conference urges aftermarket to futureproof industry

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has urged the industry to gear up for change in its ‘Aftermarket for the Future’ conference. Held on 2 December, this year’s conference, headed up by recently appointed chief executive, Mark Field.

The conference saw Field kick off the proceedings by celebrating the hard work the aftermarket has carried out over the course of what has once again been a difficult but rewarding year for the trade, before introducing the first speaker of the day, Quentin Le Hetet from GIPA.

2021 Tyre Industry Conference underway in Birmingham

The 2021 Tyre Industry Conference is underway in Birmingham today after the pandemic caused a temporary break from the in-person event in 2020.  Proceedings began with NTDA chief executive, Stefan Hay introducing the event and speakers via a wide-ranging introductory speech covering: key worker lobbying, the importance of training and technicians and more.

Tire Society announces 2021 call for papers

The 40th annual Tire Society Conference on Tire Science and Technology will again be held virtually this year, from 30 August to 3 September 2021. This year’s theme is “The Virtual Tire” and many conference papers each year are chosen for publication in the critically reviewed Journal of Tire Science and Technology, published quarterly by The Tire Society.

Double Coin tyre experts praise Crystex Cure Pro

Double Coin Tires engineers praised the benefits of Eastman’s Eastman Crystex Cure Pro insoluble sulphur alongside scientists from the chemicals manufacturer Eastman during a joint speech at the China Rubber Industry Association (CRIA) conference on 15 September. Around 200 professionals from tyre-related enterprises gathered at the conference to discuss the latest industry technologies and market status.

2020 Tire Society meeting goes virtual, theme: intelligent transportation

The 39th Tire Society Conference on tyre science and technology, which runs from 28 September to 2 October, will be held entirely
virtually for the first time this year, due to the Covid pandemic. However, it will still feature 27 original works of tyre technology presented by the authors and a special topic paper on the 40+ year history of the Tire Society as well as a keynote address, plenary address, invited lecture and panel discussion.

ETRA conference postponed due to Covid-19

The European Tyre Recycling Association (ETRA) board and committee chair have unanimously agreed that “it would be in the best interests of speakers, delegates and guests” to postpone the forthcoming ETRA Conference. Therefore, the 27th ETRA Conference on Tyre Recycling has been delayed until 2 to 4 September 2020. The event had been scheduled to run from 25 to 27 March 2020.
