Al Dobowi sponsors golfing star of the future

The Al Dobowi Group has announced that it is to sponsor Virginia Espejo; a 23-year old rising star in the sport of golf. The company says that it was impressed by the potential of Virginia, who immediately became hooked on golf after starting to play alongside her father at the age of twelve.

The precision required in golf is also reflected by Virginia’s interest in mathematics, a subject she has a studied at the University of Southern Mississippi, where she perfected her game alongside her college studies starting in 2007.

During her time in the United States, Virginia has gathered several important awards, including being declared Spain’s Doubles Champion, and achieving two second places, one third, and ten ‘Top 10’ placements at NCAA tournaments. In 2011 she was awarded Conference USA Women’s Golfer of the Week.

Jorge Crespo, European general manager for Eskay Tyres (part of the Al Dobowi Group), said that this agreement “is based on Al Dobowi’s ongoing philosophy of participating in, and upholding, strong ethics in various sporting disciplines. We see in Virginia a winner, and we will do our best to support her abilities to reach the heights we know she is capable of achieving”.

As part of this new sponsorship, Ms. Espejo will be attending the upcoming Westlake-sponsored NTDA Golf Day to be held at the Brabazon course, part of the world famous The Belfry. This NTDA event will be held on 2nd August, 2012.
